brianmacza
Hey guys, Just got me a '97 XX in stunning condition - just one issue that makes night riding a wee bit scary - the headlamp is set waaaay too high and the main beam lights up the treetops. How the heck do I reset this to a sane level without destroying my new baby in the process?
JB4XX
Not sure about the headlight, just want to welcome you to the board. Hows the riding weather in South Africa this season?
Dion
On the back of the headlight assembly are two plastic thumbscrews. The upper left is for vertical adjustment and the lower right is for horzontal. Look at the sticky up above and download the "Not Automatic" file. This should help answer any questions

Pete in PA
You can just reach that thumb wheel with out removing any plastic. Do it while the bike is cold or you'll burn your hand on the oil cooler. While standing on left side, snake your right hand in there just above the oil cooler. May have to turn handlebars one way or the other. It's easy enough to do that I even tried once while riding, DON'T, you can't do it. YOFDOT
I found this out when I changed my front shield. Take your shield off. You will be able to adjust it while you are riding. There are thumb wheels that you turn.
