Tricktape and tinted lenses?

Anyone on here got any of the tricktape products on their

bike? I was thinking about getting some of the solid

black "lightlidz" stuff to put on my headlight. Also thinking

about tinting the turn signals and tail light. You know,

wanna go for the "all black" look..

I remember there was a discussion on light tinting on the

previous incarnation of the forum, but I can't remember what

the concensus opinion was..

Anyone that's done this have any suggestions?

Thanks!

TJ I used tricktape on the headlite lens on the RC athey turned out preatty slick. I did them in silver to match the paint.

As far as tinting the turn sigs. I used a guy outta Oklahoma whose company is called "Chase Speed", i dont have his EMail or link set up anymore but I'll see if I can find it. He only charges like $10 a lens and its top quality. Carlos turned me onto him a few years back.

Go see your nearest optician and pick up some lens dye...you need two bottles and about 1.5 quarts of water...clean the lenses and simmer until they reach the desired effect. PM me and I can give you more specifics if you like and maybe even order some for you and those interested for cheap....say about $10 and that should be enough dye for all of your lenses

Did it come pre-cut for the RC, or do they just ship a sheet of

it? (I haven't had a chance to completely research their

website yet..)

I've heard about this option. Can you really get them super

dark (and still have them visible when flashing), enough

to match the black on da bird?

How long does it take roughly?

Cool, I'm interested in seeing what all my options are. I

just wanna try to blend the lights into the bodywork and

still have them be useable (and legal, ha ha)

Did he use the lens tint method that Santiago mentioned,

or something else? I'd prefer to not have to remove the

lights unless I absolutely have to.. I won't be able to

ride the bike with them dissasembled (In TX, if your bike

has turn signals, they gotta be functional.. :???: )

Like the CR125R, needs a bath though..

The CR125R (actually a CR133R  ) is history, sold it to a buddy at work, the YZ426 is still thumping though!

I think rickrad painted them in some way, they are still very visible though. I have some pix of them in action, I'll see if I can find them this evening and post them.

The light lidz I got just came in a square sheet and you had to trim it.

Not very hard though, MUCH easier than MX graphics application!

Heres what my turn sigs turned out like. I looked for his site and couldn't find it. Maybe Carlos will chime in and give it to us.

Check out www.sportbikedecals.com

They have some really cool headlight,

taillight and turnsignal decals. When the

new clear front lenses come in, I am

having a pair of small Woody's with dark

candy apple background covering the lenses.

To match the bike of course.
