  1. Agreed. If closer I would have a look as that would be the only chain bike I would consider again. But the price is way over the top.
  2. Reply back from the dealer. Original tires? 😂 Thanks for your interest. CL ad copy had some typos, now corrected. Original mileage is 170 miles Price is firm at $8,495 Overall condition is very good, but there are a few minor nicks and scuffs from storage. Slight scuffs on the front fender and rear tail from being in a garage for so long. Very Small ding in gas tank, but otherwise perfect. Photos are recent and accurate. https://www.bellomoto.com/2003-honda-cbr-1100xx-blackbird-bm306 Reconditioning to return to service included : Fuel System check, fresh gas - all OK Runs like new Oil Change Cooling System check coolant and all clamps and hoses - all OK Brake System - Flush and New Fluid complete system New Battery Note : Tires are Original Runs and rides perfect. 3. Just stumbled across this. Wow. Not sure where they are getting 153hp from. Also states 179 orig miles in description but 1769 in the mileage box. Maybe a typo. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/mcd/d/san-francisco-2003-honda-cbr-1100xx/7692369633.html
  4. Well, apparently you don't hang around prisons. JK. Quit riding in 2014, so only glance around these boards once in awhile. Toying with the idea of getting another XX, SV, Busa..etc at times but more fantasy than reality. I don't have time to ride really and bike would sit. lol
  5. Wow, what a find! Someone got a basically brand new XX! Nice!
  6. Word of mouth usually. I'm lucky that when I had my XX and other bikes, there's one shop that is always talked about by other riders and praised. I used them. 2 man shop. The owner, who's a good mechanic himself. And his lead mechanic who's practically a 2 wheel scientist. They've been working together for over 20 years. Do excellent work and are very cool guys to talk to as well.
  7. Thanks. I have had a couple people come see it but no takers. I'm moving in a couple months to a place that has an underground community gated garage w/motorcycle spaces. I'll probably just take it with me and add theft insurance to my policy for a few extra bucks.
  8. Fords lasted 100K miles in the '60s? Then there is HOPE for my 3yr old Mercury Milan!!
  9. Thanks for the replies. So I guess going much longer than a year regardless of miles is not the best idea ?
  10. I replaced my battery a couple years ago with a $55 sportbike battery from Walmart. Mine's always on a trickle charger at home. No hiccups at all.
  11. It's been 4K miles and 1 year ago tomorrow since I changed the oil. I plan on doing it this week. I've been running Castrol Syntec full synthetic 10W-40 for the last 5 years since I got the bike, changing it out every 5K miles....that's usually every 8 months until this year....been obviously riding less. The oil still looks fairly clean and the bike isn't consuming oil. I don't ride the bike that hard either. 90% is commuting and I never sit in traffic. Have I been a really naughty boy or this no big deal?
  12. What brand/model are those please? Shinko 009 Raven front and rear. It's my 2nd set of them.
  13. SOLD I reposted without the link to CL and just put everything inside this post. '98 CBR1100XX. Outstanding condition. Well cared for by 43yr old ower. 35,500 miles. No accidents, never been down. Bought in Feb 2008 with 14,000 miles from a 50yr old guy. I have every receipt of maintenance done since I've owned it including a full 30K service. I've also kept logs of every chain lube/clean, adding air to tires, oil change...etc. Just makes my life easier. Never had one issue with this bike. I've never tracked it. Never even done a wheelie on it (b/c I don't know how and don't care). Reason for selling: Risks outweighing the rewards for me these days. I'm more focused on running/training and for the past couple years have only been riding the XX for the occasional commute here and there. It's been an incredibly great bike while in my possession. Ready for someone else to appreciate it. Upgrades/Add-ons (all work done by Poway Motorcycle in Poway, CA which is by far the most respected shop in San Diego) -Ohlins springs (sprung for 185-205lb rider w/gear)- -Wilburs rear shock (has about 5K miles on it) -VFR bar risers- -Scorpion slip-ons + rejet-Sound great, not too loud, never need repacking *I managed to do install the below items :-) : -Cortech tail bag -Trickle charger wired to battery. ___________________________________________________________ Tires have about 70-80% remaining on them. Replaced fairly recently. Chain/sprockets have less than 5K miles on them. New battery and regulator a couple years ago and is always on a trickle charger and garaged when not ridden. New low and high beam bulbs replaced about 1 yr ago. This bike has never sat for much longer than a week...maybe 2 tops without being ridden. The only thing this bike is due for is another synthetic oil change (Castrol syntec 10W-40) (done approx 4K miles ago), which I'll do if it doesn't sell soon. Only "flaw" is a very small tear in the seat about an inch or 2 long. I have a strip of black gorilla tape over it and it does the job. Not worth pointing out in the pics. Hardly noticeable. Sorry not interested in selling anything separately. $3700 firm. I don't need the money. I just would rather not have the bike than have it, for reasons listed earlier. If I can't get that for it, I'll just keep it for the occasional ride. Thanks, Howie Luxh@saic.com 858-232-4007
  14. I've heard this before from others but I have to disagree. I've rented quite a few Harley baggers with top fill hard bags. I've never thought much of them. The width is ridiculously narrow compared to the side opening bags that were on the Wing and my Nomad. Just seemed like I could fit twice as much in those side opening bags. I rarely had so much stuff that I had any trouble closing them.
  15. F6B is cooler looking than a Wing.....a little at least. But one thing I almost couldn't live without when I had my Wing, was the trunk. Was awesome stowing the helmet and everything else in the bike.
  16. Nice RC and good price. My favorite part of the ad: :icon_think:
  17. Actually I did wipe the bike down before the pics. I wipe it down a lot. I may have missed a spot but honestly, that's more the result of sunlight and old dull plastics really. Some of the plastics just always look smudgy no matter how much I use the spray polish on them......unless I wax the bike......which won't be happening. But due to the aforementioned blemish, the price is now $3790/obo.
  18. Don't worry. It probably won't sell as I won't go much lower than $3500......so I'll be forced to keep it.
  19. It's my bike. Link to local CL ad below. The rewards these days outweigh the risks for me especially with distance running/racing being such a huge part of my life. I guess I'm flexible on price a little. But I don't need the $$$ and there's no urgency on my end to sell. So if get no bites, I'll just keep it for awhile riding it occasionally. I'm hardly ever on this site anymore. So if interested, just call me at the number in the link. $3800/obo Thanks. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/mcy/3750079942.html
  20. I'll probably do that soon. Good idea.
