Ridiing? and lots of other stuff
  1. OK, that's what I thought. Just had to check. Again, not meaning to hijack a thread again but I have seen that mentioned many times about the R/R crapping out, is it that big a deal? What are the symtoms of one going out? I've also seen that it is being replaced often times with an R/R from an R1. What year, does it matter? Is it a direct bolt on or will the connectors or mounting position need to be modified? I'm sure this has a thread in the Garage area but if someone can point me to the correct thread I'd appreciate it. Dameon
  2. That about covers all but a sink, preferably from a kitchen. Dameon
  3. R/R = ? drawing a blank here :icon_think:
  4. You do know that the XX has a hydraulic clutch and as such uses a line with banjo fittings :icon_duh: NBL Better take some extra banjo fittings. Just in case too.
  5. That really sucks I hope he's ok & ride worthy still. Dameon
  6. Actually John has his own web site with most of the same cool stuff if I remember correctly. Sure, Do you have those links 'cause I can't fine mine on my old HD from this one. John's site that is. I'd love to help keep him in business but even shipping that minor stuff over here isn't cheap. It was less that $20 for two bags of those from JC Whitney shipping and all. I don't think I'll get those rates from England. Now some of the other trick stuff I was looking for Actually I think mine is too. I was going by what length it could handle not by how thick the stock was that could spin. That being said I think it's only a 6" too. I thought you had a mill/lathe setup? If not then cool 'cause we got the same basic thing then. I need tools/tooling (?) to go with mine. I saw a lot of the stuff on ebay. I don't know what will fit it though. Dameon
  7. Hey bud, it has been a while. I checked out Johns site & he doesn't carry them on there. Not much else for that matter. Seems like a great guy. I hope he sees an oppurtunity in the possible demise of Blackbirdspares to bring some of that merchandise to this shore. I'd get a few things that's for sure. Last I spoke to him though he seemed more excited about his new skate wheels than anything else at the time. Heck if I had 35k pounds lying around and the invetory was stateside I'd be interested in keeping it going. If only to have some of the best stuff on mine. I sure hope someone over there takes it over & keeps it going. I picked up a 12" Craftsman metal lathe @ Trader Village a couple weeks ago. Now I need you to come over and show me what to do with it. I don't have a clue other than make some neat little bits for the bikes and so on. I know I can do anything I put my mind to with it, just don't have a clue where to start. Dameon
  8. Those buggers Honda charges about a buck a piece for: Fairing grommets and plastic rivets Hope this helps. Dameon
  9. Found them...was kind of a bitch 'cause I didn't know what to search for so I had to browse. fairing grommets and PLASTIC RIVETS Now how bout the rest of the stuff that he had? Delink kits, single sided swingarms and the lot of it? Dameon
  10. I'm finally ready to start ordering some nice trick parts for my bird when... "PLEASE NOTE: BLACKBIRD SPARES ARE NOT TRADING AT THIS TIME. WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THAT THIS MIGHT CAUSE. The Blackbird Spares business is currently up for sale as a going concern at £35,000. It is a sound and prosperous company and being web based it can be easily moved to any other address. If you have a genuine and serious enquiry about purchasing Blackbird Spares and would like further information about the company. Please e-mail me direct." WTF!!!! You cheap bastards not ordering enough to keep him in business?! I guess I've been out of the loop to long again. When did this happen? He had some cool shyt there. I know there are some other sources for some of the stuff but man this sucks. Can I get pointed in the right direction please. I've changed HDs on my comp. and all my bookmarks are not on this one yet. I'm looking for those little bags of fairing plugs that I've seen for sale I thought on that website. Anyway, you know what I'm talking about, the little black thingys that hold the bottom fairing together and the little inner fairing bits to the frame up front. Those and some of the otherneat bits he had. Thanks for your help. Dameon P.S., JK about the name calling ( )
  11. Not that yet, although I've had pipe dreams of turbos and such I don't think that will come soon if at all. If I want that kind of speed I'll get another bike. I like this one a set up as a great all rounder. Some track days, some strip days, lots of commuting and weekend touring. If I do anything it's to improve the bike as a whole not just one sided like strictly drag racing. Call me kooky but I'm more interested in how a turbo can get me better gas mileage as opposed to total HP. V's are tough but I still beat one with $10,000 worth of mods (HD 120cu. in.) owned by a coworker of mine, Carlos. Now if Manny was at the helm I may not have won (he's much lighter than I.) Carlos wasn't happy about that at all. oh, did I mention that was with a 17/44 gear ration too? So far only a K&N filter. It already had the D&D full exhaust on it when I bought it. AMSoil Synthetic this week. Ceramic coating maybe next week or month. Cash is tight. My Dyno-tech friend is trading me for a PC2 & tuning for a bass guitar rig that I lent to him. After that I'm doing some ergonomic mods risers, refitted seat. I'm going to reshape the stock seat a little and add gell pads to it, and a taller winter winshield. Next, I'll get into the suspension, possibly including a Ram swing arm <drool>. I just like the looks of it. I have an undertail exhaust also from a CBR1000 Repsol that I may try to modify to fit under the tail. The Ram may solve some of the routing issues that I'm having now with the stock swing arm. Some quick release hard luggage too. Plus various electronic gizmos. Such as that Aussie Cruise control made just for the BB. Oh, I almost forgot. I have an Equalean sidecar that I'm trying to rig up as well. It leans with the bike. Should be good for some lower speed backroad fun. Who knows from there. Dream on. Dream big. Maybe I'll get the turbo to help pull the side rig around   Dameon
  12. +1 Didn't figure. Worth asking though. I don't keep up with the Dragster Crowd so I don't know how big these guys are. I'm sure Barry has a shop that does work for other people. Does anyone have a link or other info.? Dameon
  13. Man!! Of course, Thanks for the suggestions. 40ft./lbcs. isn't to much anyway. <mumbling to self> Now why didn't I think of that! Been in the city to long I guess.
  14. That kinda makes my point. These guys are serious bird builders and they're only willing to push about 500HP. You can get much more out of it but not for very far. I like to get to see those in person some time. 8) Dameon P.S., BTW are Barry or Kent on the Board with us?
  15. It would work great though I didn't think it was a big deal getting it off. A lot easier than some lug nuts on car wheels. Cool, I read on some other posts that it is regular threads so I'm not as nervous about it. I just didn't want to go the wrong way and shear the bolt of or something horrible like that  Did you keep it in gear to loosen and tighten (torque) it back down? Thanks, Dameon
