  1. If anyone is seriously looking for some of the best twisties in the country, then visit www.motorcycleplayground.com period. Not only the best twisties but also living and riding daily in the middle of them is one of our own Forum members. This is not your everyday commutor type rider either (like myself) but a Track experienced rider who enjoy's leading others for the time of their life. Equiped with a video camera, John can provide spectacular video footage of great riding skills as well as fortunate (lucky) close calls, such as awesome Bird Wheelies and the naming of curves, see Vern's Curve!! On John's site, there is a load of useful information as well as some awesome looking T-Shirts that I just recieved yesterday, I will proudly wear. John, thanks for a great experience at SEXXT and lets get your traffic numbers up on your website. Great Site !!
  2. Maybe I should email him and get him to swap with me on the wheels. He diffenently needs my Black wheels !
  3. Honda Filter Wrench from google search http://store.azmusa.com/oilfilwrenfo.html
  4. Dave, Pick up most any sale brand of non-abrasive POLISH. Use your micro-fiber with an ample amount of the polish and rub out the scuff. NOt a big deal to do since the clear coat is so thick as you said. When polished out just wax as usual and Bobs-your-uncle !!
  5. According to the Michelin Man at the Hoot, The Road will give slightly better milage as well better side wall stickyness for the twistes. The side wall compond is virually the same as the Pilot Sport and the center compound is similar to the old 90's. Hope that helps.
  6. I ordered in a batch od Vista Cruises today. Hopeing to have them here on Friday if anyone is interested. I will let them go for $23.00 shipped in No. America. What I don't sell here will go to England in a week or two so no worries if noone wants one.
  7. I don't have any in stock, but can get them in pretty fast, (3 days) I buy at 18 and sell them at $22.00 + shipping. Shipping in the US is only like $1.75 usps Cheap fix for Cruise control. About a hundred less than throttlemiester.
  8. I sell about 10 a month to Jaws over at BIRD. I can buy them for $18.00 delivered. You should be able to buy them off the net for about 21 or 22 dollars.
  9. You need to have the Plastic one-Piece for the Bird. 7/8" of course
  10. I currently have a Pilot Sport on front and Road on the Back. It is almost time to replace the sport front but has over 8000 miles on it. Works well with the Road rear. I am doing the same again.
  11. If you go to the BIRD site at www.superblackbird.co.uk I think you will find pictures and drawings on the Vista install. It is the throttle lock of choice in Europe.
  12. I would agree with Redbird. My 2001 always sets right at 186 when moving over 50 mph. I too had a problem with heavy traffic and when it hit 250 and started to blink I freaked out and split traffic turned down a side road and went about 3 blocks and the temp dropped to 125 and falling. After that one time, I then flushed out the antifreeze and replaced with pure Engine Ice. I helped with the traffic temps and made the temp climb alot slower but still would reach that 250 flashing point so took it to Honda and changed out the radiator cap and replaced the EngineIce with Honda antifreeze water mix per Honda spec's. It has not been back up to that 250 mark since but has gotten to 235. I am now cautious about long idle speeds and avoid them when possible. My next service I am going back to EngineIce but I have been saying that now for over a year. The problem is that the Bird never needs service ! The EngineIce did not change the 186 normal temp when riding but did cause it to slow down the upward climb in traffic. Most here will tell you that the Bird just runs naturally alittle higher temp than many bikes but I agree 250 is to high. You did the right thing by either stopping or as I did pulling out of traffic and get some air circulating to drop the temp fast. It does drop very fast when moving. I have investigated options on larger more efficient cooling fans and replacement blades but have not be able to find anything worthwhile. Lest not yet. If I find something that works well, you can bet it will be all over this forum. Get get out and ride and stay out of heavy traffic. Heavy traffic equals a Cage with A/C anyway here in Sunny South Florida !
  13. Mick that is axactly what it is : I had a good ole XS650 Special
  14. Where are those Pic's ?????? Don't make me send the Chickens
  15. Actually I prefer the Ride RED background scrubs best. NIce write up
  16. Nuttin but love Dave  Looks like I will be bringing back two of the Triple Tree covers from Jaws.
  17. Thanks Dion, Probably wont make NEXXT, But will have to wait and see. There is a slim chance. Making BIRD Bash, a day or two of SEXXT and the HOOT this year so NEXXT is not likely but possible. Financing is tight although it is a business write off !!
  18. I will let you know if the deal falls through. I gotta get the weight and see what it is gonna cost to ship now. I will bring one back with me. I will be back on wednesday the 2nd.
  19. Craig, I am flying over to spend 6 days with Jaws on Wednesday. If you would like me to bring one back with me let me know.
  20. Maybe try alittle graphite and work the key back and forth.
  21. The price on that CCt is the same as buying a new one from Honda. Forget it, don't bother. Plus the newer version by Honda works just fine and can be bought for under $30.00.
  22. Just to clarify, The Clear Alternatives Integrated tail light if and when completed will NOT be programable, hence to lower cost.
  23. Clear Alternatives is in the process also of making a LED board with integrated signal lights. Won't be ready for another month tho and anyone with existing C.A LED taillights can buy just the board and swap it out and then remove the "blinkers" from the rear. I will be alot cheaper than 150.
