Change the oil. You have teflon slidders against aluminum. As soon as the oil gets contaminated, a great deal of wear can occure.

Just fill up using any gas sold in the United States. Government has regs that the oil companies have to meet. One is that there is a cleaner included with the gas that is sold. If you have hesitation, you may have gotten a tank of bad gas. Drain it and fill up with Chrevron. If the injectors are not already clogged, this should clean things up.

Erion, Micron, or Acropovic would be my 1st choises. Two Brothers, Leo-Vincy, Yosh., would be a great 2nd choices.

Mobile 1 is a blend. A few years back, when Castro released their Full Synthic. It has a petroleum base. Mobile sued, and "lost". The Federal Board of Petroleum products in their decision decided that petrolium from the ground was being refined to such a high state that it did not matter if it was used as a base stock for oils that bore the Fully Synthics label. Mobile jumped on this. Why because it's alot cheaper to produce the synthics product this way. Amsoil, put some 10/40 in the bike last year. It still looks clean, the bike still shifts clean, and I can still run up through downtown Los Angeles on the 110 and not have the cooling fans come on, unless I just get stopped and cannot get some air moving through the rad. MoBil 1 ya it is a great blend of petroleum and synthetic, but. AMSOIL is "SIMPLY THE BEST" and it is a "full synthetic"

Put Amsoil in a little over 1 year ago. The motor immediatly ran cooler and the trans shifted cleaner. Today, the same oil is still clear and I have not noticed any degredation in the feel in the shifter. Amsoil, I'm sold.

Put this stuff in the bike in the spring of 2004. It's still clean, the trans still shifts with incredible eaze, and the temp gage still shows a cooler operating temp. Mobil 1, this petrolium/synthetic blend. Is just copying Amsoils marketing with their sad attempt at offering an extended drain interval.
