  1. I've been working long hours for the past few years. 7 days a week, 72 hours a week. Not much time for anything! How have you been?
  2. Sorry about that, in storage mode - but on the battery tender most of the time. Not sure on the price - $2,000?

  4. I have new ones on the way - I am tempted to tape it though. Thank you for your suggestions! Kazi
  5. Where is the best place to purchase spark plug wires for the XX? I just managed to break the insulation around one plug and need to replace it. Maybe all 4 since I have 99k on it. Any quick fixes might be helpful too. Kazi
  6. I finished the job Monday night and it went pretty smooth. It took less time than I figured and it rides much better now. I'll do the rears this weekend and finally put in the forks that Icepick sent to me to try. Thanks again guys!
  7. Thank you all for your advice, I have the tools and am sure I can do it. You're the best!
  8. I need to replace my front bearings tonight and wanted to know of anyone could recommend a good tool to knock them out and to install the new ones. Kazi
  9. I have one of these and it works pretty well. It has 3 different diameter hoses and can reach just about anywhere you need to extract fluids from. Griot's Garage - $89.00 http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/multi+...sortby=ourPicks Greg
  10. Interested in the stock rear turn signals. Still available?
  11. Kyle, I have front and rear stands that you can use if you need them. Just come over and pick them up. Kazi
  12. I just ordered another stator to replace the one I put in 6 months ago. I purchased them both from Rick's and have never had a problem before using his stators. My question is; Is there a better stator to use in the XX? I purchased another one from Ricks for 3 reasons, 1) they will refund my purchase 2) they had one in stock (daily rider) 3) Never had problems before with Ricks on my old KZ. Any suggestions??
  13. You realize all seats are the same across the years, right? Uhhhhhh sure I knew that I was just wondering if he knew that........
  14. Looks very interesting! Keep me posted as well!
  15. I am interested also. Do they guarantee the radiators? What testing specifications do the radiators have to pass? (i.e. pressure checks, flow rates)
  16. My 2003 does not like the heat either. In Texas when it was 105+ I ran in the 220's in traffic on a regular basis and even hit 250 a few times. This is normal. Keep your revs at 2,000+ and you will charge the battery equal to what is being used to run the fan. This is the advice I was given when I bought it - and it is true. The guys on this forum are the best! Kazi
  17. I have found that a magnetic, multi-tip screwdriver with extensions is the bare minimum that you will need. Not always will the tips that come with the set work on every screw. You may have to purchase some tips that match your needs. Once you put your set together, it will be Indispensable. You may want to purchase some extra bits for spares. Kazi
  18. I found a stator and r/r at Rick's Motosport (800) 521-0277 in New Hampshire - in stock. The stator cost $140 and r/r $120. Overnight shipping to TX $64.75. Kazi
  19. I'll test that this weekend. Thanks for the tip.
  20. Replaced the stator and rectifier - and we are back in business. I had the parts air shipped yesterday and installed them a few minutes ago. Thank you for your advice! Kazi
  21. Updated to incorporate correction and addition My battery died on me Friday, I replaced it with a Batteries Plus gel model and left it on the battery tender all night. Today as I am riding around I noticed from my voltage monitor (aftermarket) that the battery was not charging while engine was at 4,000rpm. I rode home and tested the regulator/rectifier and there was no continuity with the green and ground wires coming from the rr. I checked the stator as indicated below with the battery at 12.79v. Update - when measuring the 3 yellow wires coming from the stator - I found this - Wires 1 & 2 at idle 6-7vac and rev up to 4,000rpm 19 vac Wires 2 & 3 at idle 3.5vac and rev up to 4,000rpm 3.8 vac Wires 1 & 3 at idle 9.5vac and rev up to 4,000rpm 21 vac It seems that the rr is bad and not the stator - right? MR. Hobiscus' testing procedure Always start charging system tests with a fully charged battery!!! 1) The stator will have 3 wires coming out of it. Usually they're Yellow. Locate where they connect to the Regulator/Rectifier, and disconnect it. 2) Start the bike. 3) Take an electrical meter, set it to AC Volts. Measure voltage between any 2 of the wires. You should get 15+ volts across them at idle, and when you rev up the bike, it should quickly climb to anywhere from 40 to 80 volts. 4) Check all possible combinations. If you don't get voltage, or get nearly none, the stator is bad. Every other test you can do (continuity to ground, resistance between the pins, etc) won't answer the question: Am I getting output from the stator? If you're getting output from the stator, and the connectors look good, your Regulator/Rectifier is most likely bad

    Tire report...

Remember when I posted that I got about 13k out of my rear Pirelli Angels? Well, I just replaced the front - 21k Commuting every day about 80 miles minus a couple of weeks in the winter. Grandpa
