  1. Indeed they do .... much cheaper than vfr bars and give much more rise. Only downside is there is no tab to keep them from rotating so you have to keep the tension bolt very tight.
  2. this must have been it ... after pasting in note pad and back to the forum it worked. Thank you for your help, now go buy my bike 🙂

I sold my bird and have a few left over parts first up: Upper cowl frame for a 99+ bird .... **disclaimer** I do not know the exact year of this .. the previous owner installed this on my 98 and it did not fit correctly I by my comparasion of pics it appears it is for a 99 please review the pics carefully to ensure this will work for your application $35 obo --------------------------------------------- 2nd up damaged radiator for a 98 bird. This was on my bird and worked fine but from the pics you can see it is bent. Fan works fine and does not leak. $20 obo -------------------------------------------- 3rd up: radiator for 99+ bird ... this came in a box of parts when I bought my bird. I am assuming the previous owner bought this to replace the bent one and found that it did not fit...... again with the disclamer please make sure the parts match your needs $45 obo --------------------------------------------- 4th up ... appears to be a left rear peg (came in a box of parts with the bike) $20 obo Prices do not include shipping please let me know if you need any more pics
  8. I would lean more towards the Power Commander going out. I have heard of alot of quirky issues casused by those lately .... like the PC rebooting and going back to factory setting in the middle of a ride. Eliminate the PC and see if it fixes the problem
  9. ugh ... didnt think about that .... I guess I should change the oil too just in case +1 No No NO... he needs to turn down the Fuel pressure regulator. I believe on his year bike and with his setup the proper way of doing this is to roll your throttle hand (right hand for dummies) forward to the stopped position. This is directly connected to this bikes FPR. i would check the needles as well.. and lets hope it just poured out of the hose and not down into the cylinders and filled the engine with high test.
  10. here is the picture of the hose I am talking about
  11. ok I took my carbs apart cleaned them and put them back on. I also added an inline fuel filter on each of the feed lines from the tank. After putting this all together I go to start the bike and it starts pouring gas out .... I lifted the tank and determined that it is coming from one of the 2 rubber hoses that run behind the carbs ... the one that is dumping fuel is the one that goes between the left 2 cyl velocity stacks. What did I screw up??? It wasnt doing this before I pulled the carbs apart.
  12. something like this? http://www.amazon.com/Wix-33001-Complete-I..._sim_sbs_auto_3 or would this be better http://www.amazon.com/Visu-Filter-FUEL-FIL...cle+fuel+filter
  13. do you have a part nuber or should I use the likes of a lawnmower fuel filter ... I thought about the fuel filter idea but I was afraid it would be restrictive since they dont have a fuel pump
  14. I have a 98 that had a miss in it so I pulled the carbs and put them back in and it ran great ... but then a couple weeks later it started running like shit again .... when the tank was empty I shinned a light in it and there are little dots of build up all over the inside of the tank ... I think this crap is pushing though my carbs. What is the best way to clean this crap out of my tank so I dont have to keep cleaning the carbs. I read a write up on line about some laquer thinner and small washers to shake around in the tank followed by fishing them out with a magnet ... Thoughts? I dont want to get a washer stuck down around the fuel gauge...
  15. got em thanks guys ... put light to moderate prying presure with a flat bar under the bowls on both sides at the same time
  16. I loosened the clamps that hold the carb set to the head ... is there anything else that holds these things down? I am trying to pull them off ... they wiggle back and forth a little but wont come off .... are they just stubborn? any tips?
  17. Well after my ebay fiberglass front fender desided to make contact with my front tire at 100+ mph and disenegrate and almost kill me I have decided I need an OEM front fender ... Let me know if any one has one kicking around
  18. I have a 98 with Erion Racing Slipons ... it doesnt seem to be jetted right ... feels like it might be lean at full throttle. Since I will be jetting the carb I will also be thowing on a K&N filter. The question is the debate of Factory Pro kit (no drilling) or Dyno Jet kit. Was talking to a tuner and he said the dyno jet was superior and that the slide drilling was nessesary to get a good tune and driveability. Opinions on either or both
  19. hmmm ... what part of Orlando you in ... might be worth a ride that way
  20. Wanted to see if any of you K&N haters have one hangin around the garage.... I am probably going to end up jetting the bird, and if I am going to do that I figure I might as well get an extra few ponies out of her. Let me know
  21. is there a write up on pulling the mains and pilots? can this be done with the carbs still on the bike? I know absolutly nothing about carbs but am fairly mechanical otherwise
