  1. Damn, green really added about 30lbs to the first one 🤔
  2. I typically do a breakfast shake consisting of a scoop of whey protein/ a teaspoon of raw oats/ about a half cup raw almonds, crushed walnuts or natural peanut butter/ whatever fruit or berries I have on hand, and water. On lifting days, a similar post-workout shake minus the oats. I know it doesnt sound appetizing, but after years of it, your body actually craves it. Whole foods in the morning now seem very heavy. Plus you can really get creative with them(unlimited varieties of fruits/berries, chuck in some ice for a good smoothy, etc.)
  3. I'm sooooo tempted to hack off the fender on my very pristine '01, but havent yet for this very reason. It seems the fender offerings out there for the BB are few and far between and leave little to be desired. Its a shame Competition Werks didnt offer anything for the bird.

    Valves

I know I'm late to the party, but for both for the Honda F4i and another for the Kawi ZX6, 2 separate local dealers were willing to swap out the shims I needed with ones I didnt as per an online valve clearance calculator(looks like JaBr has one), even steven, no questions asked. Neither valve inspection/adjustment cost me a dime. As already mentioned, I'd measure first, maybe you wont even need any. I inspected the Speed Triple at the beginning of this season- deadnuts on.
  5. Not mine, but a very recent ad on Craigslist, specifically the Northwest Chicago 'burbs Parts
  6. I tried numerous methods without success a few years ago restoring a ZX6E tank. What ended up finally working like a champ was muriatic acid. It goes without saying, but gloves, a mask and goggles are a necessity and the cleanup is very messy. In hindsight I probably should have just sourced another tank for the effort, but it absolutely worked.
  7. I'd like to think so, though I'm sure I'm missing a reference somewhere.
  8. Now that you mention it, I got some Ti in my left leg holding the 2 bones together from a low-side on a XB12R a few years ago.
  9. Interesting, I never thought I'd see the chemical symbols for gold and silver used on a motorcycle forum 😀
  10. Damn, I'm sorry to hear that! I definitely appreciate my new-to-me oem screen, so thanks again for that. I'll be sure to pay it forward on the site when I eventually get the double bubbly screen. That Givi I believe is in near perfect condition. I dont know much about that brand as I dont get into luggage, but maybe you can get a few bucks from it, or have it for a very nice spare? Anyway, very much appreciated and have a great(hopefully long) holiday weekend!!
  11. I appreciate the vote of confidence, but doubtful😁 Aside from tire changes and bearings here and there, I've wrenched on ALL my bikes for a number of years. Not gonna lie though, that was a pain in the balls(and I only say that because it was just a windscreen).
  12. Long story short, the way the screen has to line up and slide down just right wasnt condusive to well nuts staying put. In all fairness though, it may not have been so bad if my garage wasnt sweltering hot. It was probably overkill, but I ended up removing the 2 upper inside trim pieces that afix to the cluster. That helped a bit. All said though, I'm very happy with the appearance . More sporty.
  13. What an absolutely excruciating experience that was. A windscreen truly doesnt need to be as complicated as that was to reinstall. Luckily I had a stash of welnuts laying around, because I used damn near all of them. WOW.😐
  14. Well, speaking of which! And a day early! I can tell already, the stock is noticeably shorter. Bill, thank you, sir!
  15. Glad you got the screen in one piece. I guess I'll find out tomorrow, but I'm very curious to see how much higher your new Givi screen sits once installed compared to stock.
  16. Short of it truly being pieces to a BBJ (kinda doubt, but maybe), I'd imagine the same 😐
  17. Bonus question- So I'll be trading my Givi touring windscreen with XXitanium for his OEM Honda one. I removed the windscreen and found this wadded up between the windscreen and rear of cluster. Anyone know WTH its purpose is? I assume its intended purpose is to wrap around and weather protect the 2 harness connectors in my pic? I cant locate it anywhere in the parts fiche
  18. OH sorry, just noticed your question regarding the bars- yes, mine are OEM
  19. I like the OEM, the very 1st one you posted. Looks like its about 16" high from end to end? Apples to apples(I think), mine is 19'5. 17"wide, same as yours. This being the case, yeah, definitely. Supposed to be pretty shitty this weekend anyway. PM me, we'll iron it out if this is what you're interested in.
  20. This Givi in in like-new condition came with the bike, but Ideally I'd prefer a short sportier smoked double bubble(Zero Gravity or the likes, something befitting a Blackbird). This probably wont amount to much, but hoping maybe someone would like to trade outright. If not, I'll just buy one and sell this one currently on the bike, but hoping to kill 2 birds... I can provide better pics, and the smoked double bubble DOES NOT have to be perfect. The bike does not come with the windscreen, LOL, let me know what you think.
  21. Looks non-HISS to me, but I'll defer to more knowledgeable members. As an aside, thats a smoking Blackbird! I'll trade you the mint Red one I just acquired. jk, LOL!
