  1. Will do! However, that won't be for a while... My XX is on my brothers "Sky lift" with both rims removed. Until I get my rims back(painted artic white) I won't be able to install the tail section.
  2. The company that makes this under tail is in my city! Spoke with family member who told me owner was not feeling well(pre covid) and would be selling the business. That was a year ago. Not sure if new buyer will follow through since the motorcycle "division" was a very small part of their operation... I had one new un installed when I bought my bird... once installed within 3 wks flasher cracked!? a month later two of the horizontal red stop bar light broke on the screw supports? Very disappointing. And that's when I found the VFR800 conversion...
  3. Tail light conversion COMPLETE! Before and after... Still need to fix gap! Tail conversion COMPLETE(minus gap!). The overall weight is 3 times that of the original due to tail light weight and steel reinforced filler.
  4. Some more pics... The smoothing out part went well! Wow! When I look at that angle now, it could very well act like a flap for slowing down an aircraft! TO Tail section wrap... 95% COMPLETE! Still have minor cleaning up to do, and install damping foam around tail light edge, install grills, final rubberization on the inside then add 3 to 5 retention screws and one final heat gun all over... Still have to fix top piece gap above light. Prep for "rubberization"... To finish, 3 maybe 5 retention screws for the tail light and one final pass over with heat gun and fix seem gap, top of light. Closing tower gap... At some point will have to make holes for LED’s wires. Or may use tower holes... Tail light connecting screws to towers... 5 tail light support screws... Unfortunately holes couldn’t be completely concealed, however, you won’t be able to see them! Much better concealment... Tail section screen install... Tacked screens down with baking soda & crazy glue{BSCGlue} Then applied 3x construction glue around edge then rubberized... Complete!
  5. Thank you! I was looking to complete it in one wk but took 3 wks. 2 hrs here 3 hrs there... If I had to do it again would take one week!
  6. Hello Fellow Fighter Pilots! I'm sure most of you saw my VFR800 tail light conversion on another CBRXX site! However, I will post it here as well. Cheers! Start of VFR800 tail light conversion... I was inspired by this pic! However, this Fighter pilot used an OEM VFR800 tail light for his conversion... I had a plan! Unfortunately it didn’t work out the way I planned. So first cut was wrong. And removed too much plastic... Wrong cut... Required heat gun to soften plastic. Wrong cut and cut too short! Nope! Aahh! Gave myself more work but in the end worked out! Here, I added a piece... Now time to mould. Much better fit. Yep! Now we’re talking! Starting to mould... The following pics shows part of molding process... Once again tried, tested and true! Baking soda and crazy glue! Sandable, water proof and paintable! This was the hardest part... Horrible angle... need to smooth it out! Epoxy block of foam... Now for the dreaded sanding... Fiberglass and steel reinforce filler. NOW... it’s SOLID! More to come!

  8. Thanks Blackhawkxx! No, not by design... Last owner must have gone over something too high or maybe bottoming out! Who knows! Didn't bother trying to re-bend but may do so for next season seeing that I'd like to powder coat the connector pipe to bottom of header pipe...
