That is something I have never understood
-
I see enough room for at least four more.
-
good to know, more info? Where are they available?
-
I sent this link to my son, He wants it except it's carbed, picky picky. That is a beautiful one. Maybe he's just waiting for me to kick the bucket so he can get mine, '99

Just using the coil input, it works for the speed limit and that's just fine. The ABS on the GS is known to be a PITA
-
You are correct, I tapped the wrong wire. Well, right one according to the diagrams but the wrong one to allow it to function. Working fine now except it does not remain steady at 45, above that it works! I'm happy. Thanks for the help. Now, if you have any ideas about how to make the ABS work on the GS1150 work
-
I did install one The problem is that according to the red led in the servo, everything checks ok except for the coil input
-
Thanks, not fixed yet. There is a filter in the coil wire, noise suppression it says. My next step is removing that. Yes, according to the manual, all the dip switches are correct. We have tried switching them to no avail. Hard to believe the servo is bad, it's old but still new never been used. Where are you getting a servo?

I finally got around to installing the Audio-vox cruise but I can't get it to engage. All tests check out correct except the coil input. In other words, all connections are correct, the led in the servo light up per the check list except the blue wire input. Blue is connected to the ground from left side coil. All connections have been soldered and test ok. Installed is the PC II and a tail light modulator. A relay has been wired in to compensate for the modulator. Purple is wired into the relay. With the increase of blue and red lights I need a way to keep this thing under a hundred.

They of course have an o-ring, it seals from inside so is not exposed to the elements. I did need to modify one to fit a rim, can't remember which bike, but yes they are the "shit".

No, there is suppose to be space to allow the sprocket to move independent of the hub within the confines of the cush washers. The plate that captures the sprocket clamps it tight, possibly because the sprocket is too thick, not by much though. I cleaned it all up and greased the sprocket so it may work. I think I have a similar system as the Dy-mag wheel.
-
Sliding on the shaft yes, what I meant was that it had rotation independent of the shaft. And there is visible wear marks on the shaft. Most of the wear seems to be the sprocket. The new sprocket is tighter and lubed so it should be good to go.
-
Front sprocket was original and has worn splines. I went after market up one tooth as well, it fits much tighter. From my BMW experience, spline drives should always be lubed with Moly. I installed the Pro-oiler 25K ago and the chain is still good to go.
-
I have non OEM wheels on the bird and cleaning them and changing the front sprocket I noticed that the rear sprocket is bolted solid. It does have cush bushings in the hub but the plate that secures it clamps it tight. Changing the front, I noticed the trans spline drive is wearing, could that be caused by having the rear bolted solid? I did assemble the front with an o-ring behind and a liberal coat of Moly paste. Perhaps I should cut a spacer to give the rear sprocket some wiggle room?

I did it ! combination of tapping with a brass drift and bending with a steel bar and it's good to go.
-
Not terrible, I'll work on it and keep posted.

Anyone have one? I didn't know they are directional. I bent one changing the tire, really annoying. I can't seem to load a photo, it has the gold colored mount.
-
I somehow bent the left front rotor on my 99 bird. Anyone have one?? can't seem to load a photo, It has gold colored mount.
-
Ok so I'm slow. Just now installing the same unit, where does the VSS attachment go? Or should I get something newer?
-
Ordered the light and modulator - Thanks! Red

Anyone tried the LED brake lights? Are they really brighter? Bozeman guy got slammed from behind hard enough to push his front wheel clear thru the bumper of the car in front of him at a stop light. Broke both legs but he will live.

56K all within tolerance. Thanks, creative indeed.

How important is putting the "Mechanic tool" in the cam chain tensioner to check valve clearance? What's the purpose? The cover bolts took a 14" bar to break loose. This thing makes me appreciate the very infrequent check, and also the simplicity of my GS, that I can do roadside.
