I have a front fender off a 2000 that has a gouge/scratch.

It is in front of the rear passenger foot peg. It is under the tape of the main wire harness at the bottom. You can feel the square shape and that is where you have to carefully cut out the connector.

The ECU being loose caused my Bird to stall at intermittent times and once I strapped it down no more problems.

We have an Teknic Ballistic jacket Ladies size 6 which was only worn once. A few years old but in great shape.

My 2k bird is running smooth but it goes through a period of stalls. It will ride fine for a few days and then it will stall under deceleration. Idle is smooth otherwise and this problem is intermittent. Just curious if anyone knows what I should be checking. Thanks

Just curious how you know you over oiled the filter once it was buttoned back up?

I had a battery problem a couple of months ago on my 2000 bird where as it would loose it charge on hot days. In my case I had to charge the battery to bring it back and after going over the electrical troubleshooting it was the R/R. Since replacement there is no more trouble and on a side note I was told the R/R was updated since the original.

I had the same problem back in June as I replaced the battery and after a few days the battery would not have enough charge to start the bike. I also had a reading of 50VAC at 5k so I ordered a new R/R and have not had a problem since.

Thanks Joe as I will follow your suggestions to narrow the problem down. I wish it would just go but when it comes on intermittently it is always more difficult.

This evening I was out riding and when I went to start the bird the headlight went out like normal but after it started it did not come back on. The high beam was also out but all the other lights on the bike worked fine. Since it was getting near dusk I started moving to get home and a couple of miles down the road the headlight came back on and the high beam also worked with no problem the rest of the way home. I checked the battery and it is fully charged so I was wondering if this sounds like a problem with the starter button? Thanks for any insight and it is a 2000 bird.
