  1. Hey guys.... Long story short. My shop bent my left front rotor changing out tires. They arn't a Honda stealer, but I've used them for over 25 years. They have always done great work. They are going to make it right, or so they say. What do you think is really fair? Dicking around looking for a decent used rotor, or ordering a new one pronto to get me back on the road ASAP? Should I insist that it's replaced with a Honda rotor? What do you think? The current rotor is OEM and has almost 8,000 miles on it. Should I insist that they put new pads on it also? I ended up driving about 40 miles. Also, if anyone has the following info handy, please let me know. It's the front left (sitting on the bike) rotor. What is the cost new on these? Anyone have the part #? BTW - My Bird is a 2002. Many thanks for your opinions and info!
  2. Things change from time to time, so I thought I'd ask. Where are you currently buying your tires? Best price with shipping? Many thanks!
  3. Hello All, 1993 Honda GL1500A I thought someone might have an outside view on this. Normal voltage for this bike is approx 12.9 volts at idle, and once she’s up to 2 grand charging kicks in and up to about 14.1. Well, all was good last year when I put her to bed for the winter. This spring, no matter what rpm, the voltage is 14.1v… even at idle. Both with the volt meter, as well as a multi-meter. I put in a new battery just to be on the safe side, but still the same thing. Other than the rec/reg, what else could this be? Any idea’s? The XX took off this spring with no issues. The bikes were side by side when stored. I just don’t see the rec/reg going south while the bike is stored. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hello all, Storing the bird for winter. In a garage, but not heated. I was wondering if any of you have a recommendation for a decent cover that accomodates a tall ZG ST screen and Beetles? Anyone have the same setup as me with a cover they like that works? Any idea's on size listings and brands/models? Many thanks...
  5. I'd love to know the answer to this one also.... Thanks.
  6. Rrrut rrrroh.... Was that you that bought the set on eGay last night? I bolted after they went over $90! I posted a WTB note on another board.... at the suggestion of someone here.... whom I can't remember (Many thanks Dude).... I had a reply within an hour. Done deal. The $50 didn't include shipping. Added $15 for Priority Mail.
  7. I'm told that they must be off an '02 or newer. So your's qualify. I just picked up a pair off a 2003 VFR800. How much are they asking for the one's you're looking at? Hey man... Thanks for the reply. I thought that was the case, so I already bought them. $50 plus shipping.
  8. Just making sure guys.... do the bars off a "new" 05 do the trick on an XX? TIA.... Big Time! :icon_clap:
  9. Hey hey guys, Many thanks for all the replies. I had read here that you could change the oil/filter without removing the cowl, but the bird is new to me, so I just had to open her up to see what was inside! For a simple change, I'll probably do it without removing the hardware next time. Rich, many many thanks for the offer. BTW - It was the larger 6 dot pan screw that hold the lower cowl by attaching to the frame. I was able to look up the part #'s with the added help of you guys on the board, and a magical copy of the parts manual that appeared on my computer! I ordered it from dealer out of my area that will get them ASAP. The several local stealers are just plain worthless, and said it would be WEEKS before I saw the order. While I was at it, I ordered some extras of all the screw sizes an those pesky trim clips also. Thanks again!
  10. Hello Boys & Girls... I tried searching for info on these, but I didn't find a source. Being new to my XX, and not that it's a major accomplishment, but I changed the oil & filter the other night.... and guess what? Dumb ass that I am didn't snug in the cowl pan screws well enough. Actually, I missed one. And guess what? It's long gone.... So... where do I get the actual "XX pattern pan screws" without dealing with my local stealer? Since I've been known to be stupid more than once, I'll probably want to order a few extra of each size as well as the panel fixing clips. Anyone here have a stash? I'm new to the board, but thanks goes out to all of you for all the information you have posted. This site is absolutely invaluable if you own a bird. Many thanks in advance!! Hoping that someone has and idea so I can quit :icon_wall: :icon_wall: :icon_wall: for being a dumbass.

    ANGLE VALVE STEMS

Hey man.... Get them right from mother Honda. These are stock on GL1500 Goldwings. I just replaced one on my Wing. That being said, I know our birds aren't Wings, but it's a solid valve. Aluminum, not rubber. Just might be the ticket you're looking for!
  12. Guys... contact Alex (sandman900ss@hotmail.com). His frame plugs are exactly what you are looking for. They are designed to fit the style of the bird, and Alex is a top notch guy. He just made me a set, shipped them lightning fast, and delivered a get looking set of plugs. Much better than the flat plugs commonly available from other places. His post is above, and shows photos. Do yourself a favor and check them out. Worth every dollar. BTW - I'm just a happy customer. That's it. .....AJE
