  1. Amsoil for me too. To cut the purchase price, simply become a basic dealer. My brother has been an Amsoil dealer for a decade, so I just buy mine through him. The cost is like $10 a year and the first 4 quarts of oil you buy, pretty much pays for the fee in savings.
  2. Since you broke the rubber band, Your bike will never wind up again like its supposed to.
  3. I drilled mine last year, just the center part out, I primarily wanted to free up the exhaust, make it sound louder and eliminate some of the wicked heat those cans put off. After seeing the pictures of the can, it became apparent why they ran so hot. they would remain hot for quite some time after I shut the bike off. passengers feet were uncomfortable from the heat. I drilled through both of the plates, well the plate and the screen. the cans were a lot cooler to the touch afterward. It got a little louder, but barely. The bike is still quieter than most stock bikes of its size. its a great little mod, I would do it again in a heart beat if I had another bird.
  4. Ok, having just upgraded my headlight bulbs from stock to Osram 65w @ 12v, they are rated at 2100 lumens, where most 55w stockers run approx 1500lumens, im very happy. H9 burner on H7 base makes for long life on a hotrod bulb. My brother just ordered a Cyclops H4 Led for his enduro, its rated at 3600 lumens! I looked them up and H7 is listed at 2400 lumens. The H4 are 20w leds w fans. A little more research led to a 60+ page thread over on adv rider. The H7 is $50. Im slightly interested now. But am wondering how hard it would be to convert to H4 on the bird. Mine has some sort of adapter that the H7 plugs into that goes into the housing. Would an H4 just plug directly in the housing if that adapter was not used?
  5. less than 10k on my bike and have noticed that after a good warm it became noticeably difficult to put back in first gear at stoplights. i was theorizing that the clutch fluid was warm and the lines were expanding, therefor reducing the amount of fluid making it to the clutch packs. ill try different oil and see if that helps.
  6. I have a 45 hp new holland tractor and i have to say that it is absolutely the minimum size that begins to be useful for even small projects. 4 wheel drive is a must. it still only moves half of the that my skidsteer does. if it wasnt for the PTO ability of the tractor for brush hog and small rotatiller abilitiy then i would get rid of it. just sayin, buy enough tractor or you will regret it.
  7. my 03 ran hot. 80 deg weather and tbe fan never shut off. way too much radiant heat becahse the radiator is almost touching the headers. i decided to wrap it with titanium header wrap. cost about $40. ran it all this year no problems. fan now cycles on and off in stopped traffic. noticeable improvement in heat management.
  8. I received the Wingrack today, it was packaged nicely and its in great condition. Transaction went very smoothly, Thank you.
  9. PM me with shipping costs and contact info so I can get funds to you.
  10. I sent you a PM on the Wingrack a few days ago, but haven't heard back, I'll take it, if the shipping isn't too outrageous.
  11. So does it come with the signals, wiring and mounting hardware?
  12. The Beetle Bags attach to the original bungee points, but require special "mounting" bolts. There are a few around that have photos of the mounting bolts and some have had them custom made at machine shops due to Corbin not selling the mounting kits anymore. Does the Wingrack come with the turn signals? Or do you relocate the existing ones?
  13. what fan is the 2nd one? I like the size of it, and it looks like a stock fan.
  14. Trying to be funny is all. Seriously though, watch them at stop signs. I rode with another gent for a while that wanted a gold wing also as he got older, problem was the weight, especially with his wife on the back. about 1 out of 4 stop signs, I had to help him pick his bike back up. one little bobble from his wife and bloop, down he went. Apparently his strength was fading as he aged, he ended up selling it and was looking for something a little lighter that was still high on the comfort list.
  15. I have read some about HID conversions, but depending on the company and product, some were having to switch out to some sort of updated wiring harness to run the 55watt HID's, any of you have to do that, if so, what was involved? I was thinking of a 35w low beam and 55w high, but dual 55's sounds awesome. Im looking to upgrade for two reasons, one of course is more light output, but the 2nd is to ease off some of the electrical load on my bike as im looking at adding a USB plug or two for my cell phone/GPS unit.
  16. I think they were $79 at JP cycles a while back, but that's from memory over a month ago
  17. I am looking to start collecting 10mm brass if you start coming across some. I will trade you whatever brass you need for it. I have .38spcl, 9mm, 40, 45, 223/5.56 various brands and .308 mostly Federal Gold Medal cases
  18. If for some reason the sale falls short, I would like dibbs on the Beetle Bags, been looking for a set for some time. Thanks
