  1. If you have the unlimited funds:: http://www.ram.mc/HONDA/cbr1100xx.html
  2. informative thread. I have two thoughts in regards this. First, Heli-Coil with the head in place, it's quick. Second, If the bike is in great shape why not do it right? Pull the head and take it to the machine shop. I have helicoiled the plug threads on bikes with the head in place but I always knew there would be a chance of a piece of filing fouling the plug, creating a hot spot and burning a hole in the piston, jamming a ring or destroying a valve seat. I was lucky until I stripped a plug hole on a CB750F, helicoiled it like the others I had done. Then one day afterwards it ran kinda crummy so I pulled the head and found a valve seat burned, all I could figure was a piece of the metal filing causing a hot spot there or holding the valve open just enough to creat a jet of hot gas at that spot, cam was fine....go fiqure. So how lucky do ya feel??
  3. Try these guys, I have ordered from them before and they are great to do buisness with. WWW.Adventurmotostuff.com http://www.amotostuff.com/Merchant2/mercha...t1300_body_wind They are the 7th item down the list
  4. I have been looking at the Renegade high mounts. They look good but are pricey. I saw a set of Jardine slip on's on flea-bay, 4 big ones but that's 5 less than the Renegades. Haven't had any O>T> lately so haven't been able to save money for the exhaust, good luck on your search and choice.
  5. Tom usually engraves the PSI on the side of the regulator, should let him know your altitude, pipes and if you have a K& N filter as he can vary the psig of the regulator to accomadate those changes.
  6. So far Iam liking the Renegade high mounts, gotta save some money though. How are they on the fuel injected birds and will I need to get a Power Commander to make them work??
  7. They do look sweet, how are they with the sound and did you lose any low end with them?? I am leaning heavily towards them or the Neptunes.....Blue Flame is in the running as well.
  8. Anyone have experience with them?
  9. The guy picked up the panels, said he would make it right, I hope so. He charged 650 for all the whole bike not body work needed and he sprayed with Dupont Chroma Color. I checked around some more and hew is known for quality work, I didn't ask if he was the one who personally sprayed the bike or if it was one of the shop rats, he is Dupont Certified if that means anything. Like I said, if this does not work out I'll use Empire next time.
  10. What can I say, live and learn from my mistake, I'll let him fix it and from there see what it looks like. If there is a next time I'll send the stuff to Empire GT and get it done right.
  11. Bummed is the word for the day here. I got my parts from the painter. I am really loving the Ducati Red but as I am going over everything out in the sun I see a shit load of dust specks, then a shit load of areas along the edges that did not get sprayed, then a run and not just one part but every piece. I called the painter and he is going to repair the job but man this sucks. I asked some fellow riders in the area who they recommended and this painter was highly thought of in the area but shit, it looks like he needs to replace the filters in his spray booth! Even the Honda tank decal has some air bubles under it and he sprayed over that with the clear. Totally bummed! I'll give him a chance to make it right. It' damned hard to find anyone that takes pride in their work anymore. Hell I could have done a better job in my garage. I even told the guy do what it takes, I am willing to pay for quality work. That's all just had to vent
  12. To clarify, HOOK IT TO THE FUCKING BATTERY LIKE EVERYONE IS TELLING YOU...............FUCKO. LMFAO....I needed that after last night.

    MIG

Anyone heard if MIG is back in buisness? I thought I read that they were but that could have been wishful thinking.
  14. I would run it on a seperate circuit, a vest can pull several amps and there is a conversion factor that one of the electrical guru's on the site can give you. I am guessing the vest pulls 4 watts mabe one or two more and that may be enough to overload the headlight circuit. Just get a powerlett and wire it to the battery with a fuse in line or you could wire the powerlett to a switched relay with the power coming off the battery. I have one wired directly to the battery, I just plug the vest into it and always unplug before I get off the bike. The benefit of this method is that should I need to use the air compressor I can do so without the engine running. I also can jack the Battery tender into it when I am not riding.
  15. That's strange, Mike told me he could cut the fronts but only in a scalloped style. Might e-mail Mike directly he can send an image. I'd send mine but I already deleted it.
