  1. Shit! I'm tempted to make an offer and put it in the back of the basement with some moth balls.... Somebody buy it !!!!! BUMP !!!
  2. C'mon.... doesn't anyone have a line on a set? I don't care about condition.......as long as it is under $200........
  3. So nobody can analyze and compare the difference between both ECUs?
  4. BT 57s the bike came with were pretty good. I've read nothing but BAD things about the 23GTs. Dunlops I've always liked. Except for the 208. 207, Qualifiers and Q2 are good . Next spring I'm going with Q2 front and roadsmart rear. Mr. Google can tell you all about it. I've been down twice once on the track, once on the road. Not on the XX. Both with Michelins. So no matter how much anyone raves about them, not for me. Pirellis, I've run both Diablo and diablo stradas. Ok. Safe choice but nothing to write home about.
  5. Well.... lets defrost it a little bit. I did know that it is tied to the ECU. But that was it. I could ask this friend of mine to lend his bike for "exploration" purposes. He's in Jersey, and I go to Wayne Co. (not too far from you) every weekend..... so maybe we could work something out... I'm talking COLD winter months. He does ride almost year round. And I do have a pick up truck.... As a matter of fact, I'm leaving in a few hours. Hopefully the fucking NE extension of the turnpike won't be jammed up again with YET another accident on Friday afternoon.
  6. I don't know whether this would belong here (i guess IF doable) or over at the bar (if undoable), but as of lately I've been wondering. The XX is a VERY GOOD motorcycle. I really think so. With proper traveling gear and suspension and brake upgrades I really don't think can get much better than that. The engine.... welll..... what can I say... Anyway, I've been looking at other bikes lately, and unfortunately, I can't find anything to replace it. When I thought I did (Kawa Z1000SX), I realized that the good old US of A doesn't get ABS. Well then, Mr. Kawasaki, FUCK YOU! I'm keeping the XX. WTF would be the point of replacing it with your product other than pissing $ away? Right? I have a friend who has a VTech, last gen VFR. I've always thought if their ABS were "retrofitable" to the XX I just would not feel the need to buy another bike for a loooooong time. Yesterday morning commute to work with wet roads full of leaves brought back to mind...... Traction control would be nice too.... And the little ambient thermometer on the VFR.... So anyway, does anyone know if this would be doable and what it would entail? Beside the wheel sensors, of course....
  7. Busted better. I want to cut'em and paste'em, eliminate some of the curves, make them a little bigger and repaint them, so if they've been down... no problem. I had a set back in the day and always thought they'd be easy to improve upon and make usable with a little more capacity. But I sold them. Anyway, if you have or know of a scraped up set, please let me know.

    Toilet Seat

I suppose it'd be determined by how cheap the previous seat was AND how big an ass you and your SO own? Mostly hers.......
  9. No can do if you don't allow e-mails or check your pms.... Shit! I've never seen so many 2002-03 XX for sale.... Not even tire kickers on mine.... I guess I'll have to keep it for a couple more years...... which is just fine and dandy... better places to spend money than on a new vehicle.
  10. I should have a name for you by tomorrow. Sorry for the wait....my contact is out of town. Huh? You lost me here Rock !!! You recommending a reputable, or giving me a heads up about someone I shouldn't deal with... About to get an estimate from these people http://kalsinsulation.com/ They seem too much of a yeah, yeah, happy go lucky... something don't feel right kindda thing... I was hoping to get at least another one.
  11. Just wondering if any one can recommend a reputable company in the Scranton, PA area. Wayne Co. Wallenpaupack Lake. I need approximately 700sf of 2x6 walls.... Thanks.
  12. Bike is the faster color BLACK. It has Heli bars http://www.helibars.com/products.php?cat=10 Heated grips http://www.dual-star.com/index2/Rider/heated_grip_kit1.htm BMW grips Yoshi slip ons http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/ps-3343-786-rs...ip-on-dual.aspx Puig C/F look rear hugger BMW socket for vest/tender. Not a mark on it. Never a problem with it. Stock parts go with it also. I can assist with delivery within reasonable distance.. Edited on Feb 2011....
  13. GOT ONE! Thanks Keeper ! I lost the longer bolt that holds the passenger grab rail last time I went out. I was hoping some one has an extra one they'd be willing to part with.... Please PM me.
  14. I have euro compliant Yos. Can't remember the exact yadayada MSRXYZT whatever.... Just enough bark but not too obnoxious..... I don't think. Those Delkevic look pretty dam good quality to me.......
  15. Or any other year that fits an '03. I'll probably end up slicing some of it, so condition is not important. If it's busted, that's cool. I'll make a template so I can trim the original. Although if it's in good condition that's fine too. PM me please. Thanks.
  16. I got one but....... boy is this one tempting to put it away....
  17. Yeah, I cut the tabs off the Duc frames and it seems it won't be much of an issue. I guess it'll be down to how much lower the Yosh slip ons will be able to go so I can shove the bags further in.
  18. Hey there! I purchased a set of unusual Ducati ST4 BLACK saddle bags a while ago and I'm planning on permanently installing them this weekend. I know it's been done at least twice. Once in Canada an once in Singapore. I've been trying to get some pointers as to the ways and means of attaching them to the rear sub frame to no avail. The foot peg/exhaust area is a no brainer... I was wonder if any body wants to give their two cents. I sortta see an issue with the regulator being in the way where the bag franme would attach to the rear subframe. Should I drill and bolt through or should I weld? I'll happen tomorrow. At least it'll start happening tomorrow...
  19. All that mumbo jumbo high $ earplug business is....... bullshit............. IMHO. I get the highest NRR/SNR and the cheapest I can find in size large. Keep in mind there are different sizes. usually NRR33 /SNR37 http://www.elvex.com/facts03.htm http://www.proz.com/kudoz/english/engineer...877847-snr.html http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/produ...&submit.y=0 After a week or so I throw them away and use a new pair. I do have the Etymotics ER6i for music but it does bother me after a while...

    Ducati Bags

Just got me a set and I'm going to install them. Anybody with previous experience with it could you chime in? I'm specifically interested in the two attachment points of the hardware to the rear subframe. Trimming of the rear cowl and such. I've read this one but not much how to info.... http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...;hl=ducati+bags Thanks.
  21. Someone overseas has asked me to see if I can find out anything about their way of "conducting business".... http://www.gdlcycles.com/
  22. WTF? Nobody with a euro switch out there who can spare two bloody minutes typing? All I need to know is if there is a way to shut of the tail light as well and what's the deal with the three prong second plug on the left side !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got the switches from a dude in the Isle of Man so they should be Brit spec !
  23. So I got my euro switches, take off the shroud around the gages, pull the screen off and give it a go. Unplug the stock and plug the euros. I plug them both in (dry run) and both seem to work BUT The right one keeps the tail light on ALL the time. The left one lacks the secondary smaller female plug with the three wires the stock one has. Could anyone shed some light on this? Does the right euro keep the tail light on at all times? Whats with the missing three prong female off the left switch?. Other than that, at "dry run" time everything else seemed to be in working order....
  24. I think it may differ with year models. The clutch line on my '03 just makes it with VFR bars whereas the brake has plenty of slack left. So I reckon I wouldn't have a problem with the right side but there's no way the left would fit.
