  1. Haven't had to open my carbs in ten+ years. Riding sensibly I see around 40ish on the highway. Start running it hard and I've dropped into the high 20's. The bike fires readily, warms to choke off quickly, and has good response. It's been too long since they've been synced and it shows, but livable.
  2. Throttle cable being pulled due to interference? That's my first guess.
  3. I have no idea what you just said.
  4. How about just taking 30 minutes to put a new CCT on? Unless it's the stock as delivered clutch rattle.
  5. Ordered one. Not sure when I'll install it, but I'll report back.
  6. Did yours come with the relay, or did you source one?
  7. I saw these too. Did you put it in the stock location?
  8. I was looking at these. You put one on your bird?
  9. No pressure, if it's easy whenever you get around to it.
  10. If it's not a hassle could you post a pic sometime with a ruler for scale?
  11. Of course there are horns on Amazon that look like direct replacements. Could be the original is simply showing it's age.
  12. Yes, I used the search function but stopped reading after 11 pages. Many of the old references are dead of old age too. Who has upgraded their stock XX horn to one with higher volume? I would prefer one that mounts in the stock 97 location without extensive wiring of relay etc. And yes I can handle that if necessary. Holy fuck my horn is next to useless. Even too quiet to get my buddy's attention while riding together on a road trip.
  13. Hot. Very fucking hot. Nice bike too.
  14. You are paying a dealer to flush and fill your coolant??
  15. On a road trip a few years back I had my battery die in the bird. I had literally load tested it before leaving and it checked good. We road down a bumpy road into a state park to take a break and when we went to leave, absolutely nothing. We tried push starting, got nothing but a backfire, a few seconds of sporadic ide, then dead. All she wrote. Rode an hour and a half round trip to an auto parts store and replaced the battery and were back in business.
  16. I agree, but for those doing limited 4WD stuff they'll never need it.
