  1. That's OK, but someone have made some more drilled holes to have more height options. In stock form each plate has only 3 holes....
  2. When you put the new front tire, do you tight the front axe correctly, I mean, in the secuence as it should be done? With the wheel in the air, tight the main axe, and the RIGHT pitch bolts. Then, put the front in the floor, press the front brake and bump 4 or 5 times to align the pads with the rotors. Then, always with the front brake pressed, tighten the LEFT pitch bolts. If you did all that with the wheel in the air or in the floor, the pads will probably drag the rotor. My 2 cents.
  3. It reffers to the Main tube of the fork, the one that is chromed. It has to be fully compressed, the same as the damping rod, fully compressed. Remember you have to do that WITHOUT the springs, spacers, etc etc. Hope this helps
  4. The only thing I know I that my next bike would or MUST have front suspension settings. A bike like the XX, considering for what she was built and the performance she can show must have something to set the suspension, and not having to take out the hole front to try. Byeeee
  5. In the last 3 month I tried different fork oil viscosities. 1- 10w stock one (after reading lots of posts I decide to try others to look how they feel) 2 - 15w........ too harsh, steady but really harsh. It would be only recommended for a totally smooth road surface. A little bump feels like hell 3 - 7.5..... less damping, you notice that inmediately. I'm 98kg and I felt the bike too soft, i like to feel the road, it gives me safe feeling. 4 - 10w.... return to the stock and I'm happy with it again (but as I tried all the others, I have no doubts!!!) I have 1.0 racetech springs, and sag set at 3cm front
  6. Racetech staff (springs set) come with all the things you show in the 2 pictures: 2 springs, 2 spacers, and some washers to do the fine tunning of the sag (in order not to be cutting always the spacer/tube). I put, the spring, then 1 washer, then the spacer (tube), and then another washer, in order to prevent damage in the contact points. Of course the washers will affect the "preload" of the springs, If your spacer (tube) is 130mm lenght, and each washer have 1.5mm, so you will have 133mm between the spring and the Fork Cap. I hope I was clear enough !
  7. I did that last week, the idle is now better that before (it wasn't bad, but now is like 0km). It tooks 1 hour, because you have to wait until the bike gets cold to take out the meter pipes and re insert the screws. Like someone said, be careful with those screws, one of them fall and I was 20 minutes looking for it...
  8. When I bought mine, I made inmediatelly the mechanic to change the coolant. That night when I took her, after riding some time I heard the same noise from the same place...... After taking out the right plastics I found the problem.... Tha Radiator CAP was not completely closed, it was only 1/6 turn out for fully closed. Confirm that. The last tightening half turn is quite hard to do. IF you or someone leave it a little open, the preassure get down and coolant start to boil. and you will hear the sound in the seat reservoir. Hope this help
  9. Hi all. I have a problem understanding suspension setting instructions (in English language) for a gsxr suspension. When it says: " 1 - 1/2 turn OUT", it means for example, that from fully Hard, then I go 1 turn and a half anti-clockwise ? (the base is fully Hard or fully Soft ?) Thanks very much, and as you well suppose English is not my native language!! Thanks !! Bastok - XX '99 and helping a friend to set his gsxr 750 (he's trying to reach me )
  10. Ok Ok, I will try 40psi f&r and see how it goes. Once I try 38 and found it too lazy in city corners, so went to manual 42&42. But it's a bit hard, so let's try something in the middle !
  11. What's the besto preassure for the Michelin Road 2, front and rear. Not circuit, mostly road travel alone. I'm 100kg weight! Thanksss
  12. Up !! (I want to asemble the forks before weekend!!! )
  13. Hi chatvmax, I'm doing my front suspension maintenance and I was reading your post about it of the 2008. In some part you said: " also the adjustment at the top of the fork is backed all the way in.. I know there is a big discussion about sag and such ,, BUT can someine dumb it down a bit and let me know if it is typical fir the stock setup to be cranked all the way in one direction,,???? what is the normal / most common factory setting...???? " I want to ask the same question. My suspension has the adjustment all the way in, asi yours. I want to know/confirm that I can adjust this to my personal taste or I must let it as it is. Thanksss Bastok I'm talking about this:
  14. Yeah, sorry , I'm from Uruguay (South America). Here ther are ONLY 6 XX's, yes.... 6 in all the country !!!!!! I attach 2 photos of her ! Rds
