Well today was a beautiful day in Lafayette, IN (we dont' get those too often) and I decided to take my XX out on the road. Unfortunately, the traffic was high around this time due to the mid-day lunch rush and i spent a lot of time "city driving" stop and go's. I noticed my temps reaching 225ish and i remember that these birds do get hot so i didn't really think much of it.
I took a lunch stop, and when i tried to start up the bike again, it acted as though the battery is half dead. The FI seemed strong and all the lights were on fully, but the relay kept clicking. I have been riding the bike on and off for the past month without any problems with start up. Wouldn' t the batt be up to charge by now from winter storage?
My question is if this has to do with overheating or some sort of vapor lock (i'm just shooting in the dark), or if i really do have a half dead battery. The bike will only restart (while being jumped started) after i reset the electrical system (disconnected the leads from the batt). HELP! ANyone else experienced this?
