  1. Nice XX and good luck with the sale. Wish it was for sale a few months ago-I would have taken it off your hands. I picked up an 01, but not with all the cool add ons. I remember you had it for sale a 2-3 years and ago, but by the time I found it you decided to keep it.
  2. Nice clean bike-Great price. I'm sure your are looking forward to the ride home. Don't feel like there is something "wrong" with a 4th XX. I just added a 3rd to my stable and also have a Busa and ZX14. Just hard to beat the ole Blackbirds-Its Honda at its best.
  3. Might not be worth the trouble. I just bought a left hand panel for my 99XX after I hit a deer, and it was $305 shipped from Ron Ayres Unless you know someone that works cheap, by the time you have the plastic repaired, buy the paint, prep, shoot, and drive time, you probably could have bought new. I have some plastic stashed away for my XX's and Busa that have some scratches, thinking someday I might use them if I end up breaking something.
  4. Bike is also on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewIt...RK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
  5. I think you may be looking for the 2007 year. Here is a link to Colorite http://www.colorrite.com/matrix-colors.cfm...FTOKEN=56968208
  6. Eye Candy! I wish you were closer, as I'm looking for an 01 XX, and I'm also thinking it is probably out of my price range.
  7. Awesome Pic! Good work with the camera and background.
  8. Can't believe somebody hasn't already scooped this up. If I didn't have a 14 it would be mine. Sweet bikes. I owned one for a short while until a Kawi friend bought it from me. It was the same kinda of deal. I purchased it about 3 years ago($5995) with only 500 miles, and I have put about 2000 miles on it since. He rarely rides it so I have to do the dirty work My buddies has Genmars(the one for sale has these also) and a Corbin which make for a comfy bike. Love the cockpit/gauge area, and it is as fast as the XX, just not quite as much top end. It gets about 45mpg at 70-80mph, but does have a more vibes than the XX. If you bought it and later wanted to turn it, at that price, I would think you could make some money next spring.
  9. Has anyone checked this bike out. The pics aren't the best. http://www.chicagomotorcars.com/web/used/H...llinois/843617/
  10. Well after almost running the world out of DOT 4 brake fluid I finally have a good hard rear pedal circuit. Most of the problem stemmed from not putting enough pressure on the rear pedal, compressing the pistons and pads against the rotors. I of course was using my hand, and putting pretty firm pressure on the pedal, but once I started bearing down on it with a whole lot of force, I got some bubbles out, and it firmed up. I also quit using the vacuum bleeder, and just used the pedal.
  11. Been having problem with pedal going soft on rear circuit. I have bled to Honda shop manual twice, and after about a week of daily commuting, my rear pedal slowly starts getting soft. Once it looses its hard feel at the top of the pedal, if I have first applied my front brake and then rear it is fine. But a few seconds after releasing the front lever ( such as rounding a corner) the rear pedal will sink. Don't understand this since they are separate circuits, unless my proportional valve has a problem. I ran over a quart of fluid thru it the last time, starting with a vacum bleeder, then finishing up pumping the master cylinders. Not seeing any bubbles. Not seeing any signs of leakage anywhere. Searched thru some forum posts and some have remove calipers and pushed pistons all the way out and started from there? Anyone have any ideas? And no, I dont want to de-link. And it is my 99XX with 65K.
  12. Good to know. I used their blind bearing puller to remove my rear wheel bearings and had no complaints.

    CCT

Found a 14520-MAT-E22 CCT in my tool box, new in package. The one most are using is the 06140-MAT-325, and this is the one John sells. The latter is much lower in price. Whats the difference?
  14. Priced a little high, but I'm sure he has some wiggle room. About a year ago I paid $6500 for a 03 with 7K. Maybe an idiot, but it is immaculate, and I was tired of looking. At the time if this bike was available, I would have probably gave him $7500. Looks to be pristine and not many left like it.
  15. I recently installed a Ohlins rear shock, and rebuild the forks on my 99XX, but never have set the sag. Saw this in the new Motorcyclist, and think I might try it out. http://www.btosports.com/p/ASVSSS01#ReviewHeader Since I haven't done any suspension setups, does anyone see any issues with this tool?
  16. My 99 and 03 both have the same fuel requirement according to the stickers on the frame. Always run 87 octane regular unleaded, which is the equivalent to 91RON rating.
  17. +1 They look good on a Ti XX, and yours is a clean one.
  18. This one is still on CL, and just a few miles out of Wichita. http://wichita.craigslist.org/mcy/2292171499.html
  19. My 99 rolled over 60k awhile back, and I saved your post for future reference. Member #38-you are one of the pioneers!
