I have come into some money recently and have taken care of things that needed to taken care of. I still have a heft size trash bag left of money. I have alwas liked the CF look. I can know look into buying a set for my black beauty. I know most think, just leave her alone. She looks great the way she is and your all right. I just want my BB to look one off. Has anyone known if this is possible? If so, where can I go to order the upper, lowers and tail? Any help will greatly apreciated. I have yet to see this done. For those in the IL and WI and neighboring areas, there is a ride in October. Slimy Crud Run Wisconsin. website: www.slimeycrudrun.com Drop me a line and let me know if your interested. Should be a load of fun.

Thanks Mike, I do have a friend that will be able to do the welding. I'll leave it alone for a couple of months until I prep her for storage. Then take her to my buddies shop. I'll try to post pic off it so all can see my little problem. Frank

I was hit last july and went down on the left side. The bike slid 50 yards sown the highway ant about 70mph. I rolled in trafic and thankfully didn't get hit or run over. The left fairing and the post wher ground down. The post bent a little and ground at an angle. If I decide to fix the exisiting post I will have to grind it flush and in doing so grind anbother 1/4 inch off. figure out a way to retap and find a way to use washer to get it back as close to original length as possible. My main curiosity is if Honda had a recall to replace this on older BB's? Secondly if the drilling of holes will compromise the frame?

Sorry for the delay in response. Been in the hospital, not bike related. Well we have the parts, took awhile. My brother is the parts manager at the local dealer. He doesn't put my orders in until he gets his other customers done. My main concern is whether to have them drill my frame? Will this compromise my frame in any way? was there a recall to have this done by the dealer? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I would like to get the BB back to its formerself. If I have to I will convert it to a streetfighter, I'd just prefer not driving around on a naked bike, thats what the old lady is for...
  5. Acctually, I have a few friends that have the xb9/12r models and the pegs are straight out. The xb9/12s models have the pegs that go down then out, giving you an extra 3/4 inch in lowering the peg.

Okay cool. I asked my tech friend if he was able to find the part numbers but he isn't having any luck. Does anyone know the part numbers? Any help would be appreciated. I'm tired of riding aroung on a naked bike. It's time to put some clothes on her. Thanks!

I was talking to a tech friend I know and he told me that there was a XX in for service. He noticed that the XX frame looked different than mine. Specific, the fairing post near your knee on the frame. He said that on my 97BB the posts are welded to the frame but on the bb that was in for service, the post was welded to a bracket and the bracket was bolted to the frame. Has anyone seen this? Is is a stock OEM part? Just very curious....

Does anyone know where I can find carbon fiber bodywork for a "97 XX?
  9. I should have been more specific. I have seen more than one conversion of an R1 tail section on a BB. I would like to do the same, only with a 900rr tail section. I hyave always like the way the rear of a 900rr looks. Has anyone seen something like this? if so where and what needs to be done?
  10. I seen pics of BB with other tail sections on them. Do people modify the BB subframe or do they put other bike subframes on the BB? Does anyone know of a list of other subframes that fit the BB? The reason I ask is cause I would like to change the rear of my '97 BB. Thanks
  11. are these yellow boxes for use on both carbed and fuel injected models?
  12. I checked the vent hose and it was kinked. My brother and I did a quick fix to that and I ordered a new stock part. I was also checking the petcock and noticed a little dry rotting on the ruber diaphram as sugested by Pete in PA. Just to be safe I ordered a new petcock and assembly. I can still ride but I would feel better after I get the new equipment put on. Thanks to all for the posts, I'm glad I found this website.
  13. It started doing this in April. I have kept in the garage. I did a half winterizing. I put Sta-bil in but I would run the bike everytwo weeks. Just to let it get hot. Who ever had this bike before me must have kept it outside. all the aluminum hat oxidation spots, that are turning out to be a pain to clean. I bought a K&N air filter when I cleaned the carbs. I want to get the BB ready for some trackdays. Everyone I ride with says I crazy if I take it to the track. I'll be laughing when I rail past them. They say it can't be done! No, I haven't changed the plugs yet...
  14. Thanks, I'll look into that tonight when I get home. I cleaned the carbs the week I brought her home. BTW the BB has over 12k on her now.
