How's the kid?
The known water leak points for those is along the removable top to the windshield, and the top to the center bar. I can't recall on those years if the water could travel from the front to the back. The front is the most notorious leak spot.
If you pull the carpet, there are drain plugs in the floor.
You can get a Jeep pretty full of water and not hurt it. I happen to know how much is too much. It's a lot.
That's a great help, Carlos! Will unplug first thing tomorrow morning.
Chloe is very ill right now. Ill enough for praying people to start praying.

Here is the back story:
Last Thursday my grand-daughter in Fayetteville NC was taken to the ER and early Friday transferred to the children's hospital at UNC Chapel Hill. She is gravely ill and mother went with her. I left Friday morning straight off and met up with her in-laws to take care of my grand-son until they can return home (~90 miles away.) Wifey is coming over Sunday to take over so I can go back to work.
Dad is a drone dude for L3 industries currently in what can only be described as a hot zone.
She has been in charge of the household and is doing an excellent job. She has been driving stepson's Stinger since he left (I have it right now, she is carless at the hospital until we can get all the ducks in a row.)
GARAGE:
She allegedly has been cranking up her Dodge Caravan and his 2012 (?) Jeep Wrangler Unlimited weekly. I think not; the batteries in both vehicles were stone cold discharged. I have revived the Caravan and am currently working on the Jeep's. As soon as they are both fully charged I am putting tenders on both of them. Sound like a plan?
While monkeying with the jeep I discovered a substantial pool of water in the front passenger footwell and a lesser amount in the rear. The rest of the upholstery appears dry. Is there a known entry point for this type of scenario? I vacuumed for a while, but you know it will not get it all. I may go to HF and get a tarp to just cover it up until he gets home (keeping it classy in NC) but would love some tips on how to stop it, or if water in a jeep does as much damage as I think it will.
I have tomorrow and Saturday to work on this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I installed HID's in mine, turned night into day. Then installed a computer fan bolted to the R/R to keep it cooler, also put a volt meter in the right mirror. Then a powered oilier, then a cruise control, then ---- I guess I'll keep it.
Both my birds have/had HID. Same for pro-oiler. Oscar got the CC from BB1 and I will put one on my current one if I can find one. Is yours the Autovox setup?I have VM also. 3 actually. One in RH mirror that was transplanted from BB1, one on right of fuel tank, and one in the power adapter. I stay busy keeping them synchronized, like old SU carb setup on British sports cars.

Pretty damn happy with the install on these, haven’t tried them though due to weather.

How have the LED headlights turned out? I may be replacing the HID’s on my bike pretty soon and am interested. Is focus an issue? Are they plug & play or did you have to fiddle with installation? I remember hearing stuff about projectors and stuff like that. Anything to it? -

Yes, but do you park like a dick, which would justify the zip tie treatment? I think the people who need it most, will be least prepared. Another fun one is pepper spray on the door handle.
Pepper spray. I like that. -

“Protcet” Beautiful.Good idea, didn’t know they made that. I cut strips of flashing. This is much easier.
And the dowel thing…… I have done that using matchsticks. Would be better to glue them though.

You guys have to understand the source. Carlos wears toe shoes, so his experience with and perception of socks is skewed.
I think he is an anti-socker. He will do a great job of rationalizing his obsession of everything anti-sock. Probably destroy me since I am a known rabid pro-sock apologist. I think there is room in the world for all people on the sock spectrum.
I actually am not wearing socks right now! (I walked the dog through my fields on a chilly and wet autumn day and my Jobst “Ambitions” got wet in the toe box) Believe me, I feel naked. Carlos would just feel normal.Tomek, you go guy! Be a loud and proud socker!
Ducati guys, put a fashionable sock on whatever you think would sell.
Maybe the sock is just not understood. It was put here not to cover up, but to fill a void.- 1

I have a 55 gallon burn barrel with a hole in the bottom specially for my leaf blower. Just sit it there and let it idle. Works great.

I had already looked, it's around 150 miles from you, in Hayesville. A few of us are flying to ATL, from as far as Netherlands, then driving up this Thursday or Friday. Then head back Monday. So, there's certainly an open invitation for a visit, but I recognize that its a ways.
I couldn’t come anyway. Pretty intense few weeks coming up. Monday I am taking the reins again as pharmacist in charge again after a 5 month stint in another joint. Audits are coming up, I am on call.
I was just wondering if I could recommend interesting eat/drink/subversive places. There is Octorberfest in Helen, GA. Enjoy fall in Appalachia!- 1

Or since it is a 2005, just forget about it. Don't bleed that wheel as there shouldn't be any air since you were just changing the fluid. If the caliper acts up, then replace it. There really is no reason at this time to spend money on it. Or if you can't sleep at night worrying about it, have it done when getting inspected or other work being done instead of hassling with it now.
That, my friend, is common sense. Well done.- 1

Your thermostat may be only a set-point. When it gets hot enough, it shuts off. That's what mine does. If the gas water heater eventually sends water hotter than the POU heater thermostat (sensor) requires, it just takes a break.
Actually (again AFAIK, I haven’t fiddled with the things for a few years) the unit works by having water pressure energizing a solenoid which in turn energized the heating element. If you want hotter water, you reduce the flow to the unit and vice versa. I have to occasionally reduce the flow to effect a 20 degree rise in temperature. The heating element is probably getting gunked up.- 1

Damn that’s cool!

100% of water heaters have thermostat. But like the conversation about EV parts and "what is a tachomoter," how it's employed and the results you see may vary. There is absolute no heating appliance sold in the US that doesn't have an over-temp thermostat. Now, what other benefits are written into the software controlling it (and yes, pretty much everything has some form of crude software), will vary. And as you noted, even just an "on" command could still mean you run past the heating ability. I would expect better quality units would use good software PIDs and a high-watt heater to hold a fixed temp no matter what. Would be easy really. PID software is commonly used for everything that needs to have predictive control, from quadcopters to advanced cruise control to...heating...

FlowCo™ is a reliable non-thermostatic water heater delivering endless hot water on demand. FlowCo™ is ideal for single, sensor faucet or single, metering faucet for handwashing and other fixed-flow applications. The heater features self-diagnostics with intelligent controls, SafeStart™ technology, and 3/8" compression fittings. InfoCue™, a visible LED indicator, indicates system status and operation feedback. The unit mounts in any orientation and is compact in size.

Bill, we use under-sink water heaters in all of our clean rooms, and I have had to fiddle with a few.
I am not sure what V they are on and I am off for the week, so won’t know till next week.
That being said, I do know that in our units the temp rise or fall is controlled by water flow, not thermostat (which is non-existent AFAIK) Increasing the flow lowers the temp, duh.Hope this helps.

What algorithm do you employ to determine ride to destination versus trailering?
-
As I told you Mike, I bought the exact trailer off CL several years back and put my bike on it one time to try it out, didn’t even hook it to the truck before I decided it was a very poorly engineered piece of shit. To poorly built for a used Blackbird, much less a fancy BMW.
By the way, I put 1700 miles on the bike between last Wednesday and Monday. Road some great roads that I would have missed if I had a trailer. It would have been real neat to have ridden back with you.

It was a shame how Ford devolved the T-Bird over the years. The Mustang probably sucked all the oxygen out of the marque’s progression.

That’ll suck. How much real damage will it do to just live with it? (My default is to let a bike get dirty. Not like you’re going to wear it out)
