It takes motivation to spend hours rubbing on metal.  I start out motivated then it seems to go away.  It's looking good.

I noticed last year watching NHRA drag races that some of the top teams are still using air powered tools to tear down the engine between rounds which is a time sensitive deal.  Must be a reason.

Price the parts (pair) yourself so you can compare labor cost at different places.  A good small shop can save money or a good mechanic willing to do it after hours.

Maybe if it starts out brittle it stays brittle?  I'm guessing the material difference is the difference.
