  1. Can't speak for Ohlins but I just installed a Penske remote with a fork rebuild and the Bird now handles like Honda should have created it. I bought mine from Triple Digits built to my weight. I'm pleased. For my riding style and two-up riding it's excellent.
  2. I'm happy with my Two Bros C5 Titanium slip ons. Sound awsome, especially @ 5,000+ rpm. Quiet at idle. Much lighter than OEM's and my Givi's fit fine. A full system is cheaper but of course you loose the "symetry" if that's important to you. I suspect you will need to dyno if you're adding a PCii. Also, the Tit pipes are cool to the touch immediately after a ride but the shiny parts are still hot. I've had these pipes on for the last five years and they may need to be re-packed after nearly 100,000 kms. I think I paid about $1,300.00 when I purchased them.
  3. After installing Goodridge lines, clutch, all brake lines, I'm looking at the rest of the rubber hoses and gas lines and wondering if there are quality lines that will replace them. Hope I'm clear here. I'm sure there are but I want something that is "top of the line". Suggestions please. Cheers
  4. Good way to make your Bird "ugly". I'd be more interested in close ups of the paint job.
  5. :icon_thumbsup: for Avon Storms. 4,000 kms so far, warm up quickly, excellent in the wet, $250 a pair. That was with 45% off. Mounting was no free. Mounting is never free All that being said I don't ride like a banshee and never get to the wear bars. Actually I put new tires on every July when I begin my summer time off. The next tire will be a Diablo, I already have a front. I don't think I've ever ridden on dunlops. Pilot roads, powers, 020's, and now Avons. Next Diablo's then maybe I'll try Metzeler's.
  6. Thanks for the help. Problem solved. www.techmounts.com #10998. Stong torque necessary but solves my mounting issues. I spoke to them and they are manufacturing one and sending it priority post. Hopefully that plus the hard wire will be ready for a road trip to San Fran with a Harley buddy , yes, it's possible to co-exist, in August. I'll try to post pics. Cheers
  7. Can you please give me a direct link to the site I can purchase this mount. Thanks.
  8. It looks good. Can you see all the gages when riding? Is it hot wired to the battery, how so? Thanks
  9. I think so. The brake master cylinder is very close to the "horizontal" bar of the Heli Bars. There does not seem to be much space. So, how are members mounting their farkles when you are using risers, specifically, Heli Bars? Pics would be nice. I can't fabricate anything. Thanks.
  10. Will a ram mount for the Bird still fit with Heli Bars. I want to mount a 9500i and need a mount. For a fairing plug in, what are the suggestions?
  11. At 105,000 kms I'm replacing wheel bearing which I bought of Jaws. I did the stearing head bearings at 102,000 kms. I've never noticed anything but after reading sereral threads I thought it was time, maybe even late. This spring I rebuilt the suspension; Pense remote adj rear and front springs and pre-load adj's from Jaws. I'm replacing the RR from John, still on the original. I'm replacing the cct. I've installed Goodridge steel lines, plus clutch line. New battery. New Avon Storms. Shrooms. Hid low beam, 100 W high beam. I feel I now have the Bird Honda should have built. I can live with the power, don't need more. This summer I will add the final two "farkles" a Bell RX65 PRO, and a Zumo 550. Now I have the perfect sport touring/sport bike for me. And it only cost me a fortune and took 5 years. Now I'm buying a scooter for my wife; 50cc, she won't need a motorcycle licence. I'm planning on "tarting" it up and useing it to commute the 10 kms from home to work. No bridges, free-ways; speed, 50-70kmp. I don't want to ride the Bird that short distance at that speed. I'm into my scooter faze. Don't you dare , Fing boo me off the stage. I plan on teaching my wife how to ride. For her it's the best 1st stage.
  12. Don't be freaking me out, I'm having new wheel bearing and Avon Storms installed as we speak.
  13. My two cents, why would you ride so many miles before changing chain and sprockets?
  14. Yes he does. I replaced mine with an OEM but I just installed and RR from Jaws.
  15. I'm about to replace mine at 105,000 kms. I replaced the stator at 60,000 kms or so. I've been lucky, no electrical gremlins, but it's a precaucionary measure. As well as a new cct for the same reason. Already installed a new battery a few k's ago.
