  1. I'm trying to help friend of mine to sell a pair of brand new alpinestar tech 6 white motocross boots size 11. The boots belonged to her recently deceased son who never got a chance to wear them. The boots are located in New York state and would be shipped from there in original box. I should have some pictures of the boots tomorrow. I have one taken with phone camera but the quality is bad. Below is the picture of the same boots I found on the web. Asking price is $180 including shipping. Retail price for these was about $275
  2. I just bought set of pirelli diablo strada to replace my current 10,000 miles set from amazon.com for $230 shipped. The tires are actually sold by motorycle accessories warehouse but I dealt only with amazon. This was the best price I could find curently online.
  3. Yes; I would swear from looking at the pic it was you
  4. After checking out your picture I realized I saw you in Brownsville TX last week in front of chineese restaurant!
  5. Jay; why would you want to do the valve check? As per my local honda dealer the blackbird 'does not need valve adjusted' They also insist there is not such a procedure as 'throttle body synchronizaton' :icon_think:
  6. Nice bike; trophies were for winning sport bike show some time ago IIRC. There was a thread about this somewhere
  7. I cannot find the link to video showing the guy breaking the bead using the van
  8. one of the instructional(?) videos shows guy breaking a tire bed by driving over the tire portion with the van; it actually worked pretty well Picture below shows another solution
  9. anyone can bring the tool to OzarXX?
  10. Joe, now I'm confused...I did not mention the bolt broke off. The bolt I refer to is called front engine mount as per manual, it goes through the frame and then threaded hole in the engine. You can see the bolt head in the picture below
  11. pilot roads = problem solved
  12. Don't worry Jay, I'll be there. I realized the most probable cause for my problem was using wrong frame slider spacer. Short goes on right side and long on the left. I kept all my parts separated as per left side and right but somehow I managed to mix them
  13. the nut of certain thickness migh work; I will look into it tomorrow. O.K. I just checked the area moment ago; there is not much space to the front of the hole. It might work if I grind off part of the nut. Right now it looks like heli coil is the answer but I do not want to take the engine out. I have to do some research on the size of the drill needed for heli coil. I do not think it's much bigger then the hole in the frame. The bolt itself has some free space inside the frame hole.
  14. Today I finished installing forks I received earlied this week from gp suspension. I went only for a short ride; the ride is nice; I rode over rail tracks that used to send the rattling shock through the bars and now it's much better. Since I also installed set of brand new tires I took it easy. At the same time I replaced stearing head bearing with the tappered one so it's difficult how much of the improvement can be attributed to the forks alone. After coming back from the ride I started installing fairings and here is my problem. I had a set of rg frame sliders installed some time ago. After many tries I succeded in fitting the spacer that goes between frame and the engine with permatex. This is the right side I describe. I had the fairing attached with the upper using two bolts. The hole I cut in lower fairing for a slider is slightly off center so I had to pull a little on the opposite edge to fit the slider assembly through the hole; it seeemed to me the thread started right way. I did not feel any unusual resistance when I tighten the bolt to 29 ft lbf as per manual. With the second click on my torque wrench the thread snapped and now I have stripped thread issue. What would be the best; heli-coil? Will I be able to repair thread in place? I'm a little pissed off with myself going through this at the very end of my maintainance project
  15. + 1 mobile synthetic motorcycle oil
  16. I used DHL shipping twice in the last month. First I shipped upper cowling from south texas to california. The box weight was 10 lbs, relatively big size box. UPS was nearly $50 at their store so I could not believe when DHL charged me only $9! Today I shipped set of forks from texas to oregon city, oregon; package weight 20lbs and I only paid $16.69. I did not buy additional insurance; standard coverage is only$100 in case package is lost but I took the risk. I think DHL is trying to increase market share with agressive pricing but keep them in mind when shipping is needed. Both shipments were ground service. Disclaimer: I based my post only on two shipments and I also noticed that depending on the type/size of package their rates are not that great. It's always a good idea to check the prcies with other shipping companies
  17. just parts; two valves, rebound and compression, spring, seals, bushings, oil, would propably come to about $500
  18. Chris, I was told they will replace seals; the bushings will be inspected and replaced if needed. I will call Dan Kyle and find out the cost
  19. I have my forks wrapped in bubble staff and ready to ship. I'm going for a full rebuilt and right now I have two potential shops to sip them to; Lindemann and GP Suspension. I believe GP Suspension would be about $100 less. Both shops go similar route about rebuilt reworking existing valves. Full rebuilt with Lindemann is $600; right now I'm leaning more to GP Suspension. I will keep my stock shock for a little more; it's been replaced with low mileage oem shock two months ago. I would love to get feedback from guys who had their forks serviced with these two vendors. I also posted the same question on cbrxx.com Thanks
  20. here is the link to some reviews; some complained about dye bleed in rain. I guess for the price it's still a decent buy
  21. with the temperatures rising I noticed my coolant temperature rises quite fast once I slow down or stop. I noticed my radiator core is quite dirty, most of it in the center caused by gunk flying off front whel, I tried to use garden house but it does not work very well. Would would you guys recommend short off pulling radiator off?
