  1. Yes and even then the amount of crap I have dealt with over the years is amazing. Ford 4WD not engaging, they had the truck for two weeks. Say its fixed, (from the techs mouth "they put it into 4WD and icon illuminated on dash") I did an awesome 4Lo burnout in parking lot to show them the front hubs were not engaging. Drove it to another dealership, repaired in 2 days with new parts. Ford F150 Driver/passenger door not latching recall, solution was to replace the door latch connecting rods. Problem is not the rods but the plastic coated door latch itself, failed again the next morning. Ford said they would replace the rods again though. Solved it myself and my coworkers, even helped a lady stranded at a gas station who had the same issue earlier this year. Little bit of PB blaster and a flat head screw driver. Dodge Charger spindle nut backed off (no cotter pin used where there should have been one) trashed bearing. I actually get a call from the tech as the young lady working the shop desk had no clue what a castle nut, spindle, hub assembly or cotter pin was. He got failed bearing on the work order, Took 20 seconds on the phone with the tech to get "no problem I gotcha, probably have one on the shelf and will be ready in a few hours) Charger serviced, oil filter gasket blew out 100 or so miles later leaving work, towed to shop (yes, the same shop) They heard a ticking noise and wanted $1500 to tear down the engine to inspect it. $150 to power wash engine bay for oil spray. I am thinking WTF?, coworker asked me was it ticking when it lost oil pressure, nope pulled over and shut it off due to the warning lights and beeping. If it wasn't ticking then, its not ticking now. Go pick it up, there is a ticking noise. Just happens to be the ticking noise they hear is from the FI solenoids doing their job not from the engine. Damn I miss that car, just fun to drive and comfy. Fucking Hyundai, so bad I would take pictures of it each time a rollback took it away. Had sales people answering the phone for the shop, a dozen calls for a TPMS faulty in one wheel taking 6 months to fix, lug nuts tightened so bad that I had to break them. Calling to ask if you want your car serviced while its in the shop waiting for parts to fix it yet again. The awesome time the shop called me as the roll back driver and shop manager got into a fight over dropping off the car. Would never ever own another, aside from this it was also during the time I had MPG issues, Hyundai was caught cheating on their inflated MPG and had to issue a recall on their engines as they were imploding themselves due to poor casting methods. Those are some of the bad, had some good ones along the way as well.
  2. 1/2 a day repair for the rear axle to be replaced, will have to set up an appointment and see if they even have the part available first. Probably shouldn't put it off as the truck tips the scales at over 9k lbs.
  3. Just got a recall notice this morning on my new F250 for the left rear axle shaft having the potential to fracture from improper heat treatment. Wish they would bring the Excursion back, always loved them.
  4. My track bike will weep a little around the cap. Even swapped it for different reservoir, still the same results. Next thing to do is rebuild the Brembo master cylinder or keep the sock on it. https://motoloot.com/collections/our-reservoir-socks
  5. An electric XX, if as comfy as the XX that sounds like a lot of fun. weigh it down for class Mileage isn't bad, might also not be the tire choice you are after. We all fall in love with a tire brand and easily hate others at well. These might simply not give you the performance you are seeking or expecting.
  6. Monitoring and adjusting the PSI little by little for the best happy medium and even different pressures in each tire 1 at a time to note differences. 518lbs, (is it really wet being electric?) never would have guessed that weight for the bike. For some reason I had around 400lbs or so in my mind. Don't forget that the tires profile will also change with wear. When you swap out the old tires and get fresh ones, they make bikes feels as if it lost 50lbs and handles amazing. Another issue to play tricks on your mind as you test out pressures.
  7. How much psi does it rise once up to temp in the Arizona sun? Does it feel better once up to temp? Should increase a couple psi, my truck will gain 5 or 6 psi easily but also granted that it is holding way more air. Also what does the tire say on the sidewall?
  8. There is a pipe in the middle of the Vtwin engine connecting the two radiators and a "Y" pipe fitting left hand side under the tank towards the neck connecting them as well.
  9. if you are happy with the taste why change it? I have never done a 5 minute wait using my press, will give it a go and see if I notice any changes.
  10. Yep, Rothmans and Thermae make a similar setup to get the radiators to the front. Back in the day the kits were $800 or so. Not plug and play either, you had to make it fit clearance of the plastics and front wheel during suspension travel under heavy braking. Miss watching Stoner race Both radiators are on, now to fill and check for leaks again and then wrangle the plastics back on.
  11. I hope they used a better design on the goldwing than between the SP1 and SP2 RC51. early SP1 models had 2 radiators and 1 fan. SP2 such as mine has 2 fans, that draws air in. Front cylinder and exhaust pipe sits basically between the radiators. Below 30ish mph the fans do their best, above 30mph the air coming in the front of the bike cancels out the air the fans can draw in. Overheating can happen rapidly in mid summer in little traffic or a few traffic lights. Running engine ice is a help, a big modification people do is swap out the factory fans for larger sprawl fans turning in the opposite direction trying to evacuate as much heat away from the bike and not fight the front air once around 30mph +. A member on the RC boards made kits for this with new fan brackets. Not made anymore I believe, can get the fans but would need to fab up mounting and get connectors. Another common mod I did install is an auxiliary switch to the heat sensor relay to use if temps started climbing. This allows you to get a head start if you encounter traffic. This is where I believe my trouble occurred, seems my son was flicking this on and off randomly riding at 60deg at night for his comfort than the bike needing it. That is where my troubles began, fuse blown, replaced the fuse but the switch to turn on fans is not working still. I rolled the bike outside to see if the fans would come on by themselves once it hit high temp and saw the leaking radiator so shut it down and tore apart. Once I get the right side back together and the system filled up I get to check this again to see what works or dont. If they do work I most likely will remove this bar mounted switch all together, or replace it with a much smaller toggle that is hidden out of reach of kids fingers. Dang kids, he even asked me if he could ride it at RacerXX. 😆
  12. Got one side on, taking a break now. On vacation and this is too much like work. Just to the right of it is the fuse block, couldnt place it under the seat or tail section. Doesnt matter at this point I guess. Least of my problems.
  13. Slowly knocking out some projects, got the next 9 days off. RC51 had some issues few weeks ago. Electrical, easy fix blown fuse (but why did it blow) still looking. Took longer to remove plastics to get to fuse block The fan fuse, which also messed with the turn signal and brake lights affected my sons night time adventures visiting family. This is why we learn hand signals. Roll outside to bring up to temp and see if fan kicks on and if fuse just gave up the ghost from 20yrs of heat and use. Instantly see a drip off the left radiator. New radiators ordered and damn what a pain to remove. Bike was wrecked by original owner, so she has been sporting slightly dinged radiators and Chinese plastics for a while. 2 side radiators has to be the dumbest shit a honda engineer came up with. Even the RC51 race bikes ran a single front radiator. Now to install these spawns of Satan, figured I would rant while taking a break.
  14. The advantages of a Moka pot to extract more from the beans is exactly why I prefer a French press for my coffee. The 2 minute wait allows the grounds to bloom and forcing the water through them extracts the oils and coffee flavor notes that is left far behind in a traditional drip coffee. Leaving you with a creamier cup of coffee with lots of flavor. Not a big expresso fan, but not a hater either. Well, unless you are buying one of those BS milkshakes people call coffee with shots of expresso in them from Starbucks and the like.
  15. Always carry spare ones now for the 28 Model A, even the shortproof ones are subjected to extreme heat and go "poof"
  16. I need to use my wok more. Dont know the variations of kudzu/arrowroot but know I read several years ago about consumption of it to often is bad for your liver and can develop toxicity.
  17. They use to be available in two colors, the black CF and yellow/gold kevlar. The person I bought them from changed their mind of adding them to their XX. I know the adhesive used to secure them to the covers must some of the strongest I have ever used. Like yourself, don't think I have ever seen them on another bird.
  18. Thats right, got one of those faster XX's in the non black color
  19. I got them from someone here probably close to 20yrs ago, cant remember who it was. Had to be a complete set that must have also worked on the X11 as 1 piece is completely hidden on the XX and another is mostly covered by the fairings. I always hated that gold color honda used on engine cases.
  20. Doing some routine maintenance and while allowing the radiator to burp out all the air pockets I would give the throttle a couple light twists when I heard a rattle. I dont hear it unless I rev up a little and let the throttle snap back closed. This replaced the original 20k miles ago with one from our late friend John Smith. It is a non manual one, anyone know what make these were or a source for new ones?
  21. awesome news, congrats on your new life.
  22. Use to have a full D&D on a 750 back in the day, obnoxious loud. People made me ride in the back because of it. Have dual GPR's on the RC51, make a D&D seem mild. Currently she is running dual Two Bros which are an improvement after adding in a set of baffles and is still a tad over my liking. Love the sound of the twin, but honestly don't see how harley riders tolerate those straight pipes.
  23. https://www.amazon.com/CURT-45900-Adjustable-Trailer-Receiver/dp/B004SMGAJ6?th=1 run this one on my company truck, has 12" of adjustment which is helpful with the different trailers that we have around the company. They also sell single ball mount tongue (I swear they make this topic sexual) that will give you several more inches (who couldn't use that?) of adjustment. There is even a 10" drop setup that will give you 20" total. Not cheap and at 42lbs Mine is pretty stout, right at 32lbs.
  24. Yeah, I got it way cheaper for rigging equipment then saw a video of a guy talking about it. They used it in the airforce by the case. He used it on his AR's in the video to show how much smoother his triggers were and would make you loose a pound or so on them with just the dry film spray applied. I sprayed it in one of my buffer tubes and it slicks up the inside and calms down the chatter,
